Get Expert Advicedo i specifically have to tell my photographer what shots i want, or should i trust them
ive read heaps of forums with brides saying their photographer missed the 'dress hanging up shot' etc. to avoid this happening to me, should i be making a list of shots i want for my photographer?
how close should my wedding photos location be to my ceremony and reception?
like is it too much to ask for photos to be somewhere half an hour drive away??

Great question! Definitely keep the two a close together as possible (5 mins drive or so - ideally walking distane).
Every minute on your wedding day really counts so you don't want to waste valuable time sitting in a car. Also, imagine if there's a traffic jam and you have all of yoiur guests waitng for you.. what then?
Summary - keep them v close to each other - ideally walking distance!
if my dream photographer lives in another state, is it worth paying them to come to my wedding?
Shoeless Photography
It's a great question! It's definitely worth investigating if the photographer in question is prepared to help make it happen - for example by adding in a few extras as part of the deal. Such a job would be prestigeous for the photographer so i'd expect them to work with you to make it happen. Good luck with it!

Great question! I think the headline answer is that the final 'shot list' shold be a collaboration between both of you.
A good photographer will have some great ideas about things that the bride might not have thoght of (as a photographer, i love to capture little detials such as brides shoes or table decorations which are often overlooked). But the bride may well have specifics that she wants or are especially important (for example I'm shooting a wedding soon where the bride will be wearing the veil from her grandmothers wedding dress which could be missed unless she had mentioned it to me).
All in all, don't be afraid to say what you'd like but also challenge the photographer to come up with suggestions too!
