OVERVIEW
Photographing a wedding is one thing, but capturing those little moments that make up your special day is something else!
It's less about spending hours posing for photos and more about spending time with your friends, family, guests and your new partner. About enjoying the day, being relaxed and comfortable and once all that happens, amazing photos happen.
As you can see from my gallery below, I love the outdoors and love capturing emotion in my images. Real emotion. Moments that you can't pose for or re-do.
Natural light, big wide landscapes, forests and cityscapes. We live in such a perfect part of the world it's a pity to not capture that in your wedding images.
Your wedding day is a story. It's got a start, middle & end. So being there from the start is important and it allows me to tell the full story. But every wedding is different, so if that doesn't suit our day or fit your budget I'm always happy to put a package together to meet your needs.
Just get in touch, I'm pretty friendly!
I've been working as a photographer for over 12 years and have been lucky enough to work with brides all over the country. So although I'm based in Sydney, travel is never out of the question. Actually, I love exploring new places both in and out of Sydney.
I run my own business and keep as much as I can in-house. That means I'll meet with you, I'll answer the phone and most importantly I'll be shooting your wedding. Plus of course I'll be the one sorting, editing, designing and delivering your wedding images & albums!
Feel free to check out my website for more details & my portfolio. If you can't find the info on there, just give me a call or e-mail.
About
My name is Anthony and I run this wedding photography business you're looking at. I’ve been taking photos for 15 years with nine of those working with amazing couples capturing their special day. I started working live music and events which I think is very similar to a wedding –unpredictable and always spontaneous! Add to that my love of landscape photography and you get candid, natural portraits containing vast, wide landscapes. So that’s my story, let’s see how I can tell your wedding story…

Get Expert AdviceHow long will a wedding photographer stay at our wedding reception?
AP Photography
It depends in each reception, but I always like to stay till at least the cake cutting, first dance and 45 minutes after that - seeing everyone having a dance and enjoying themselves makes for some great photos! It's always nice to stay till the end to capture the bouquet throw and a few emotional photos as you exit, but that's not always suitable for every client.
What are some of the best places for wedding photos?
I'm getting married in Sydney CBD. What are some of the best places for wedding photos?
AP Photography
There are the very obvious landmarks of Sydney Opera House steps, under the Harbour Bridge at Milsons Point (don't forget Luna Park for some fun photos!) and Hyde Park with their beautiful waterfall and tree archway.
Some of the more uncommon spots include Angel Place – a little laneway just off Pitt Street with birdcages hanging from above. You won't find another spot like it! For something a little different there are some great buildings down at King St Wharf. Using their unique architecture to give some really interesting backgrounds with bright colours and shapes.
If you have some time to spare, catch a ferry from King St Wharf and head to Cockatoo Island. Not only will you get some incredible photos while on the ferry sailing through Sydney Harbour but Cockatoo Island is a photographers dream! So much character and unique images around every corner.
For something really different, head to Newtown or St Peters and find some of their iconic graffiti laneways.
What are the various styles of wedding photography?
I want to learn more about wedding photography. What are the various different styles?
AP Photography
There are two main styles of wedding photography – stylized, formal and posed or candid & natural. As you might have guessed, formal or posed images are staged photos. Where a photographer asks you to stand still, pose a certain way, have a certain look and take a photo. This can take up to a few minutes. Often some very iconic images are posed or stylized photos.
The beauty of a natural, candid photo (in my opinion) is it reflects my clients own style and personality. Not one that might be forced upon them. If they prefer to laugh and run around in the sand on a beach while holding a glass of champagne… that's what they will be looking at in 20 years' time. It's their own wedding and really shows their true side.I also love to incorporate landscapes into my work. It adds an extra element to the images while also incorporating the beautiful scenery of their wedding location(s).
