What are the benefits of having an engagement session with a photographer?
I noticed a lot have it as an added inclusion in some packages
Royal Memories Photography
Hello! What a great question and one that I get asked quite regularly!
Having an engagement session has so many benefits.
The main one I believe is that you and your clients become familiar with each other and then that will translate in being comfortable in front of the camera with your photographer. An engagement session has not as much pressure as your wedding day has in capturing those amazing moments so it allows you as a couple and your photographer to get to know each other better and have some fun as well.
Another benefit is that come to the wedding day, you as the bride and groom will have a little more understanding of what poses to do and what the photographer is asking as most of it would have been done in your engagement session.
And another benefit is that you have some amazing memories of you as a couple before becoming husband and wife to have to either use for Save the Dates, or just to have around the house and remember the joy you had celebrating your engagement.
I would definitely recommend doing an engagement session for the ability to have some beautiful memories and to get comfortable in front of the camera and with the photographer. Especially as they are going to be with you for the entire day!

Photo/Video locations on a rainy day in Melbourne
Hello Can anyone give me ideas on locations for my wedding photos if it's raining, I will be in the western suburbs for the Ceremony in Keilor and the reception in Taylors Lakes. Prepared to travel 30 minutes to a good location. Thanks Sylvia

Rain should never be scared of when if comes to your wedding day. The less sun that is showing the better as it means less squinting. Umbrellas are the best option to cater for rain and the photos you can have with them are amazing! Imagine hugging your new husband behind the umbrella and just having that moment. Another option is to find a beautiful building with some amazing architecture and spend it undercover.
I hope this helps and I wish you all the best for your beautiful day in May!

What I tend to do when I have been booked for a wedding where I have not been to the venue before, is I make a time to go to the venue before the wedding day. Around the time the wedding will be held and bridal portraits. As then I will know what the venue will look like come that time of day.
I do that for that exact reason, so to have my game plan in my head. Especially if we have only been given 30 mins for bridal portraits. I want to be ready (and if the bride and groom want another place to have photos I am prepared). It may be more work for me but I want to do as much research as I can for my bride and groom so they know I am prepared and ready for them when their day has arrived.
