Photo/Video locations on a rainy day in Melbourne
Hello Can anyone give me ideas on locations for my wedding photos if it's raining, I will be in the western suburbs for the Ceremony in Keilor and the reception in Taylors Lakes. Prepared to travel 30 minutes to a good location. Thanks Sylvia

As mentioned below, rain is really nothing to fear for your wedding photos. It can even add something special to the photos - a little kissing-in-the-rain-romance can make for amazing shots! However, if a cute bridal umbrella isn't quite what you have in mind, there are some great indoor locations around. Prahan hotel is unique and makes for great photos. And don't underestimate the value of shooting at your favorite cafè, or where you had your first date, or even the local pub. Some places even let you have the venue to yourself for a while, as long as you purchase a drink. This was a savior for me and my clients when we had a 37 degree wedding day in Melbourne :-)

Hi!
Personally, I include a complimentary engagement session in all my wedding packages because I strongly believe it benefits both me as a photographer, and the clients. It's a chance for them to get comfortable with myself, my working methods, and the camera before their actual wedding day (getting all the awkwardness out of the way!), and to receive images from me before the wedding. This may offer extra peace of mind that they did in fact book the right photographer for their needs and wants, and often I see that the engagement photos end up on their wedding invitations - which I think is really nice!
From my point of view, as the photographer - the better I know my clients, the better end result. This shoot in advance lets me observe how they interact as a couple, discover what poses and methods work for just them, and be able to prepare even better for the shoot on their wedding day. The more relaxed we all are in each other's company, the easier to capture authentic, natural shots from their wedding. :)
