FAQ

How would you describe your photography style?

I would describe my work as classically candid...

I capture the moments as they unfold, quietly guiding you into beautiful light and telling the story of your day.

However - I do make sure I take a few of the photos I affectionally call the "for your Mumma Shots." They include a beautiful portait of you and your partner, by yourselves and with your Bridal party and family. These are the photos that your family will want to frame and put on their wall!

My editing is as close to natural as possible - I want you to pull out your album in 15 year and remember fun moments from your day... not cringe at the dated editing style!

Would you travel to capture my wedding?

The short answer is yes!!

I would be honoured to capture your special day - where ever you choose to have it... If it requires a flight or overnight stay I only charge the bare minimum for my out of pocket expenses.

It should be a crime to have a photographer be this talented! She was nothing short of amazing, and that would be the understatement of the century. She was so energetic, kind, creative and passionate about getting great photo's! My husband and I are sooooo bad at posing for photo's but she guided us and made it seem so natural. I absolutely adore the photo's she took, I honestly cannot recommend her enough and am passing her details on to everyone I can!!

We could not be more impressed with Allie and her assistant Courtney. Every step of the process she blew us away with her professionalism, enthusiasm and competency. Is it normal to pay photographers in full before the actual wedding day?

Just wondering if it is standard practice to pay vendors in full for services such as photography prior to the actual wedding day?

Hi,

Yes, most wedding vendors (including wedding photographers) charge in full prior to the wedding day.

This ensures that you get the best and most expedient service both on the day and when your beautiful images are delivered.

Just think - its one less thing you have to worry about after the wedding!

How long do I actually need a photographer for?

I've had a couple of quotes (varying from $1,500-$4,500). What's the overall difference between a 2k, 3k and 4k package? First-time bride here. Any help is appreciated!

Every Couple and wedding is different!

Here are a few things to ask yourself while decideding what kind of coverage will suit you best:

Do I want to have photos of each partner prior to the ceremony? It's a great opportunity to get some of the more formal portraits of the day ticked off your to do list. However, depending on where you are both getting ready - this can add up to 3-4 hours to your coverage.
Do I want the whole day documented? Do I want awesome night shots, dance floor moves captured and speaches documented? - If the answer is yes, your coverage will have to include a few hours into the reception. In my packages - I include 3 hours as a standard... This means that the formalities like speaches, cake cutting, first dance and a bit of dance floor action is captured.
Do I want the photographer to stay untill we leave at the end of the reception? If you are planning something special on your farewell it could be worth capturing - but keep in mind, that is at least 2 hours down time that you will have to pay for - so it is worth considering whether it is really necessary.
Ask the photographer you choose for their advice! After chatting with you about your special day, and what you are envisaging - they will be able to guide you on what will work best for your budget and memories...

How much notice do you need for overtime requests?

I'm super flexible with the timeline of your special day, I only ever take one booking - so it is as easy as asking the question at some point throughout the day.

If it is a significant amount of time - I will simply send you an invoice afterwards.
