We love our wedding photos, Leigh did such a wonderful job. We met with Leigh the day before the wedding, he ran through the package and what was included as well as a brief timeline of when photos would be taken. We got the most gorgeous photos on the beach and Leigh made us feel so relaxed and comfortable. He is a lovely guy and made us smile all day. We cannot thank Leigh enough!

Should wedding photographers have two cameras?

YES... Every Photographer should always have 2 cameras. Weather they shoot with both or just one, they at least need the 2nd one as a back up so that is there main camera breaks on the day they can keep shooting...

Are two wedding photographers better than one?

Yes two Photographers are definalty better than 1.

Although an experiecned photographer would be able to capture everything you needed, having the 2nd shooter there would be a great advantage in making sure that they were able to concentrate on the more candid shots of your guests.

For example, if I am concentrating on the couple and their vows, I have my 2nd concentrate on the parents, grandparents etc. While I still look at them to see what is going on and getting what shots I can, its a great help to have the 2nd there to get those extra important emotional shots that I may not get. Generally when the couple getting married are they start crying it means other family members and parents will start too so its a perfect time to get those shots. Another example would be if we are doing a large group shot of you and the bridal party, I would be concentrating on the couple just married when the 2nd would concentrate more on the bridal party and what they are doing.

If I can't afford a wedding photographer, what should I do?

Should I approach a student? Or should I cut back in other areas?

If you can't afford the photographer you have been looking for and or had your heart set on, I would cut back in other areas to get who you want.

For example, $1500 for car hire or $1200 for a cake may not have been that important when the cheap in-experienced photographer or student photograher don't even end up capturing those things on the day or use the car to his/her advantage and get some nice shots of you and your partner in it.

Having the right photographer for you is one of the most important decisions you will make. One of the few things that you will take away from your wedding, besides the obvious (each other as a married couple) is what your photographer and videographer will give back to you. So I would rethink some other areas you are spending money as you don't want to cut your photography budget and settle for someone you are ok with. The last think you want to do is get back your images back and regret what you have done. You can't take that back, so its important you make the right decision.
