Luke brings a unique level of vision to every wedding. Alongside a decade of work in the wedding industry, he has a wide scope of camera crane film credit, broadcast TV experience and a broad design portfolio. Having also lectured for three years at the University of Tennessee in binocular vision/optics, Luke brings a deep knowledge of science to the art of capturing your perfect day!

Absolutely! Commonly the best place to meet is a cafe near your ceremony or reception location. That way we can walk through some of the photo shoot details and think through any tricky location issues. This helps to maximise the opportunity we both have to work together and so we can understand exactly what your vision for the day is.
This can certainly be added into your package. Please advise us of what kind of photo book you'd like and we can send through options for you to consider.
Once all of the editing is completed, yes we can. However you will need to provide a hard drive commonly at least 200GB in size for us to pass the images onto you.
Every photo we take is in both raw and jpeg format. This provides you with both a quick reference image and also the raw file of each for when you want to adjust the finer details of any image.
The Light Industry do both wedding photography and videography. Please see our website www.thelightindustry.com for many examples of wedding videos and bridal expo catwalk fashion videos.
A 10% package discount is applied for couples who book both photography and videography! (The discount applied to the equal or lesser value package).
We charge a 10% booking fee to reserve our best photographers (& videographers). 10 business days prior to the wedding, an additional 40% fee is charged. The remaining 50% fee is due once the Photography package is ready to be delivered.
Yes! We can incorporate a customised Album package for you. Prices are dependent on the size, quality and number of albums you need. Here is a sample of print options available: Album Covers: Printed, Classic, Faux Leather, Linen, Delux. Printed Paper: Satin (170g), Eggshell (148g), Lustre (190g), Lay-flat Lustre (260g). Album Extras: Matt/Gloss Dust Jacket, Embossing, Frosted Fly page.

Do photographers always have a second shooter?

It's common knowledge that second photographers are often junior assistants. So long as this is communicated up front, this cost should reflect evenly in your quote. It's also true that a second photographer is not essential. However - most brides don't want an "essentials only" wedding. So if you have extra budget, go for it!
The most cost effective way to get two experienced professionals to capture your wedding is to book your photography & videography package through the one company, requesting that both crew have significant photography & videography experience. This enables both to leveridge their skills and tag-team throughout your day, swapping equipment for each aspect - to maximise the photos & video coverage you receive.
Many weddings that I've attended (as a guest only) where there are two photographers, it appears that they are not working at full pace. I think this occurs because they appear to only be thinking within "their zone", as a photographer... And, since there's two of them - they take it a little easier. So as a rule, it is always a safer bet to book a photographer who also has significant wedding videography experience. Videography is often a tougher workload, and these people are more likely to think creatively outside the "generic photography" box for you!
What was the worst wedding you have been to and what happened?

Unfortunately, the two worst weddings were: 1) when the bride treated one of her bridesmaids (a sister) badly during her speech (the bridesmaid ran out after the speech crying) , and 2) when the bridesmaids had treated the bride badly in the lead up to the wedding (there was relative calm on the day but things blew up following the wedding).
*Lesson Learned: Don't feel compelled to have a bridal party, even if all your other family members & friends have had a bridal party. If you seriously think there could be disunity in the bridal party on your wedding day, play it safe & keep things small.
Another regrettable wedding/event was when I attended (as a guest) & the photographer clearly had very little idea what they were doing. I took about 20 casual/simple photographs of the day & they turned out to be the best wedding pics the bride received! / Note to self: if you hire monkeys, you get peanuts.
