Get Expert AdviceWhat are the main shots we need to get at our wedding?
Can you advise a common shot list for our wedding? I want to make sure nothing is missed. First kiss, first dance, etc. What are some of the shots you don't even think about? Thank you!
Can you tell someone's had a spray tan in photography?
Fusion Photography
Yes if it is a bad one it can make you look very orange. A photogrpaher can adjust that in post-produciton but it creates a lot more worek that they may charge extra fot. A more serious problem is that some have allergic reactions to a spray tan which can cause your skin to come out in welts which definatley dont look good in the photos. If you do decide to have a spray tan do a trial ruin well beofre the wedding in case of any reactions.
Will cold weather effect my wedding photos?
my date is set for the middle of winter. i'm not talking about rain or wet weather here, i'm talking about bitterly cold weather! will it effect my photos if we pose outdoors? like will my skin be all goosebumpy and ruin the photos, and does a cold expression come across on wedding photography??
Fusion Photography
Yes the cold weather can certainly affect your skin with goosebumps and make you go a bit blue. It is something you wont necessarily notice in the photos unless they are close-ups. You should definitely make sure you have some warm wraps/ jackets or even blankets to bring with you on the shoot. They can be taken off for photos and put back on when you/re moving from place to place or waiting. Especially important for the bridal party if you want them to stay friends. :-)
A good photographer should also be able to help by working quickly and keeping you moving so that you keep as warm as possible. If it gets too cold then you can always do some indoor photos, but there should be no reason why you couldn't get at least a few great outdoor shots!

First kiss, first dance, signing the certificate, cutting the cake etc are all traditional must-have shots. But there are many other beautiful moments that a modern wedding photographer can capture such as the first look between bride and her parents when she walks out with the dress on, the look on the grooms face watching the bride coming down the isle etc. You shouldn't need to give a general shot list to a good experienced photographer - they will endeavour to capture all the special candid moments throughout the day as well as the traditional moments. What you should give them is a list of all the family group combinations you require, so you don't miss anyone important on the day. Make the list in consultation with your parents, so that everyone is on the same page, and let everyone on the list know that they need to stay close by after the ceremony so they don't disappear! You can also let your photographer know about any special objects they may not be aware of, (for example, a special heirloom that might be hiding under your bouquet), or any unique family/cultural custom they may need a heads up on.
