OVERVIEW

Hey, I'm Sam! A Grade Ninja Photographer 😎

First up, let me say I hear you! You’ve been looking at a whole bunch of photographers, many of whom capture nice enough portraits, yet you haven’t found that one who captures those next level raw candid moments - the ones that make you feel giddy inside and can show what it really FELT like to be a part of your wedding.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY THAT MAKES YOU FEEL SOMETHING

Seriously, this is your wedding! And there will be no other like it. Don't settle for second best. I believe you need to choose a wedding photographer whose images totally resonate with you and truly make you feel something.

QUICK ADVICE

When choosing a wedding photographer, it's not enough to look through the tiny selection of images a photographer has posted on their Easy Weddings page. Same goes with their Instagram account. You really need to hop on over to their website and look at a number of full weddings they have posted and see how a photographer captures a wedding day in its entirety.

So head on over to my website and have a look for yourself at the quality of photos I take. If my images stir up some sort of emotion within you, that's a pretty good sign we might be a good match for each other!

AND ULTIMATELY, LET'S HAVE FUN!

I bet you’ll be surprised at how much fun you can have in the process!

About

Easy going, a little quirky, nature lover, human and cat dad, always up for a good laugh. That’s me with my beautiful wife Corinne and son River. If I’m not out photographing, I’ll probably be hanging with my family and friends, playing Settlers of Catan over a nice bottle of wine with some good tunes.

FAQ

It's super easy. I'll send through a quote which you cna accept, plus a contract to look over and sign (I don't think there should be any surprises in there). You can thne pay a $750 booking fee my bank details (with Pay ID) to secure me as your wedding photographer!

You most certainly can! (So long as you're not using them for commercial purposes). You can print your photos wherever you want and you can distribute them on social media until your heart is content. All I ask is that you kindly credit me when posting images online.

Absolutely! I love visiting new locations! I often travel interstate for destination weddings so don't be shy to enquire if you're having an amazing country wedding!

Absolutely true…. well, not really. I am pretty good though and I definitely have a few tricks up my sleeve (I’m a longest road kinda guy). If you fancy getting to know me before your wedding over a game of Settlers, then by all means hit me up and you can verify the above statement for yourself.

I shoot roughly 90% of my weddings without a second shooter and do so very confidently. However, for couples that want it all my extended package comes with a second shooter.

Sam is absolutely fantastic! Neither my husband or I are very photogenic, but Sam made everything a breeze. Leading up to our wedding we received helpful emails with tips, reminders and ideas for all areas of planning. And on the day he made everything very relaxed and fun. Our photos are absolutely stunning and we will treasure them for years to come.

Sam is one of the kindest and most efficient vendors I have ever had to engage with in my whole life. His ability to dutifully and calmly corral patrons into the right areas to achieve the most beautiful photography was the sign of a well experienced and professional outfit. His enthusiasm for our wedding was never doubted and his clearly displayed kind nature made it so very easy to communicate our expectations and dreams to him. His creative flare produced some stunning and 'different' styles of wedding photography that we couldn't be happier with. Some people have family Doctors and Lawyers; Sam is now going to be our go to family photographer. The man for all things beautiful.

Our photos was everything and more that we had hoped for. He captured the day through Gail force winds, rain and sunshine. He worked with us and around the weather to capture our day.

I decided to contact sam after seeing one of his stunning photographs taken at the same venue where I was planning my wedding. The image was incredible, and I immediately knew I wanted him to be our photographer. It was important for me to have someone with experience at the venue because of its location and limitless potential, from our very first conversation with Sam, we felt completely at ease. Sam, with his significant experience was able to provide us with a very clear outline of how our wedding day should flow and how to ensure that we captured all the important moments, meaning nothing was forgotten. Sam has an extensive portfolio which showcases his unique style of capturing the raw emotion of a wedding. he is just so talented and a genuinely wonderful human also. Never, throughout the entire day, did I feel like I was posing; he was fun! This resulted in the most beautiful photos I have ever seen. He was able to capture the love and emotion of our entire day and immortalise this feeling forever I spent a lot of time watching Sam throughout the day, when he wasn't focused on me, to see the smile on his face, his little dance to the music during the reception, his rush to capture a shot of one of our guests was a very special thing to witness. Sam never looked like this was just a job to him, his passion and enthusiasm it so clearly evident. He loves his profession. Sam helped to make our day magical and he has provided us with some of the most incredibly beautiful memories. we cannot thank him enough

Should wedding photographers have two cameras?

Sam Wyper Photography

My answer a resounding YES!!! For a number of reasons:

  • Cameras are essentialy pieces of technology and let's face it, technology can fail. This would only happen very rarely (and luckily has never happened to me), but a professional photographer should always come prepared with at least one backup camera to your wedding. Two is even better!
  • While it's not strictly necessary, photographing simultaneously with two cameras allows your photogapher to use different prime lenses and therefore gain different perspectives of defining moments during your wedding day. By the way, you know that creamy, mushy look in the background of portrait photos that everyone falls head over heels for? That is likely done with a prime lens.

Ultimately, if your photographer plans to only arrive at your wedding with one camera, it's a good sign you should run! Fast!

Are two wedding photographers better than one?

Sam Wyper Photography

Yes. If both photographers know each other well and therefore work well alongside each other. Having two photographers who don't know each other and are of a differerent skill level may spell disaster for some of your photos.

Usually I'll get my second shooter to capture the family's reaction during the ceremony, allowing me to give 100% of my attention to the couple. A second shooter can also capture a variety of different and unusal perspectives during your day, whilst the primary photographer will likely be making sure to capture the safe shots, before moving on to different angles etc.

Another time when a second shooter can be invaluable is before the ceremony commences. I usually hang out with the groomsmen whilst my second shooter stays with the bride, capturing those sometimes tense moments as she prepares to walk down the aisle. Meanwhile, I can capture the groom's reaction as the bride walks down the aisle as well as that moment when the bride walks towards her groom.

Having said all of that, I have photographed heaps of wedding el solo and the images I deliver to couples have always been amazing. A second shooter just adds a bit more variation and perspective. If you check out my photos, the two black and white photos of dads, one laughing and one crying, are both taken by my amazing second shooter/wife Corinne.

So in sum, no need to panic if you realise you have only hired one wedding photographer. However, two professionals who work well together are generally recommended to capture your special day in all its glory.
