OVERVIEW

Lost in a Daze Photo Co. is the wedding photography business of Camden local, James Gough. A married man himself, James fell in love with wedding photography after his own wedding all those years ago, and now spends his time capturing romantic weddings full-time - all across the country, too.

A real travel buff, James thoroughly enjoys travelling Australia to capture the moments he considered golden, especially the “real moments and real emotion” at weddings. His photography style certainly does focus on genuine interactions and heartfelt moments, and James enjoys snapping these when no one is looking.

As a result, James delivers gorgeous, emotional wedding photos that will look lovely as a canvas print or in a wedding album, which he is happy to supply for you!

“Where do I begin with how amazing James is ... On the day of the wedding, James became family. He was so involved in every part and managed to capture moments I didn’t even realise he was taking. He stole the heart of our kids and added so much to our day. The photos are beyond stunning - the perfect mix of candid and artistic. We will be so proud to display them around our home. There aren’t enough words to say how highly I would recommend James. He is truly the salt of the earth with a huge amount of talent.” Kim

About

I’m a husband and father, My love for photography started 7 years ago when travelling the world with my darling other half. Iceland, Tokyo and Berlin are my happiest of places. And then when I got married, I had an out of body experience - I got lost in a daze if you will - where I sat back, took everything in and said to myself that this is what I want to do - I want to capture this same happiness and joy for others all over the world.

Hands down, James from Lost in a Daze Co was the absolute best vendor of our entire wedding day. From start to finish, he was incredible, and the photos he captured are nothing short of pure magic. If you’re looking for a photographer who can truly capture the love, emotion, and joy of your wedding day, look no further James is the one. Not only is James incredibly talented, but he also made everyone feel so at ease in front of the camera. My now husband and I, along with our entire wedding party, felt so comfortable with him, which is so important when you want those candid, authentic moments captured. He has a true gift for blending in with the crowd, yet never missing a single important moment. The result? Photos that feel completely natural, full of life, and so true to the energy of the day. The photos themselves are nothing short of stunning. They truly tell the story of our wedding day, every laugh, every tear, every joyful moment. We’ve received endless compliments from our guests on how amazing the photos are and how James was able to capture the fun, love, and connection in such a beautiful and genuine way. It's not just about the moments themselves, but about how he turned them into art. If you're considering your wedding photographer and reading reviews to help make your decision, let this be the one that seals the deal. Booking James was one of the best decisions we made, and we will forever cherish the breathtaking photos he took for us. Thank you, James, for capturing our day so perfectly we couldn’t be more grateful!

We couldn't have asked for a better wedding photographer than James. From the outset, he attentively listened to our preferences and seamlessly brought our vision to life. Communication with him was effortless, and he consistently ensured that our desires were understood and incorporated. Leading up to the big day, James met with us multiple times, fostering a comfortable rapport that made it feel like we were working with an old friend. On the day itself, his professionalism shone through as he arrived early, seamlessly integrated into the ceremony, and captured precious moments with an artistic eye for detail. James went above and beyond, staying longer than expected to ensure every cherished moment was immortalized. His dedication was evident when, just an hour after the reception concluded, he delighted us with a sneak peek of around 50 stunning photos. Each image radiated the joy and love of the day, leaving us utterly captivated. We cannot thank James enough for his exceptional work. He is not just a photographer; he is an artist who has an unparalleled talent for capturing the essence of the moment. We wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking unforgettable wedding photography. Thank you, James, for making our day truly magical.

James was great! Easy going but professional, and did a great job with the photos. Will recommend to others I know getting married.

What are the main shots we need to get at our wedding?

Can you advise a common shot list for our wedding? I want to make sure nothing is missed. First kiss, first dance, etc. What are some of the shots you don't even think about? Thank you!

Lost in a Daze Photo Co.

Hey Hayley,

I normally explain to my couples that there is realisticlly 10-15 photos you'll always use and everything else is storytelling.

Your main photos imo would be..

- Wide shot of the ceremony

- The couple during the ceremony

- First kiss

- Family photos (I don't feel like we put as much value in these anymore but i always get them because they will never not be special)

- At least 3-5 from your portraits (Let's face it these are the money shots we all want)

- Key family members or friends (i find this out before the wedding day an put a little extra focus on them)

- First dance

Everything else should be aimed at storytelling so when you look back through your gallery you're brought right back to the day. I generally get asked to get as many candid of everyone as possible so more often than not thats my focus.

Hayley
