OVERVIEW
Hello I'm Jodie Pope. I'm a lover of fine food, dining, sight-seeing and meeting new people! I spent most of my childhood camping in the north east corner of Tassie with my Dad, fossicing for gemstones in the riverbeds of the rainforest country! I also bred and showed pedigree pet rabbits and guineap pigs and this is where my love of photography began! I had the 35mm kodak film back then and loved snapping the pedigree pets at the shows and in the backyard!
I'm now a professionally trained photographic artist, who strives to provide exceptional service to my couples. I believe that working to my couple’s wedding vision and dreams for the day is incredibly important. I made the move into the wedding industry in late 2020 and I am excited for the years ahead where I can create amazing memories and keepsakes!
“Jodie was amazing. Very easy to communicate with before the wedding and during. She captured our day perfectly. We have some amazing photos to look back on." Trina

FAQ
I only ask a 20% deposit initially, and then I offer a payment-plan to help budget! Funds will be kept in the dedicated Wedding Trust account.
Yes I do, anywhere +40km from Woodcroft will incur a small travel fee. I usually travel from Aldinga areas to Woodville areas! I love Victor Harbor, Yankalilla and the Barossa Valley too!
I usually shoot and end up producing about 90 professionally edited photos per the hour!
You'll receive a USB in the post containing all your photos in two sizes; low-res for screen and social media and high resolution for printing in large-format (15MB or so). You'll also have access to an online folder of your social media sized photos for download - I'll send you the link :-)
I am compassionate when it comes to cancellations for reasons outside of your control, but the date change will likely cause a loss of business on the original date. Therefore, I will request to retain the 20% initial deposit from you only. If we're lucky, the new date will be available but I can't guarantee it and if not; then I will refund all but the initial deposit. xx
My packages include just me shooting, with 2 cameras, lighting and choice lenses! I can however provide a 2nd shooter for you, from the many fellow photographers I am in contact with regularly. I know 3 great new photographers who would jump at the chance to be there, but for an additional price on top of my own prices, and I will assist with arranging this xx
Yes, I strongly feel this is a pre-requisite. You need to meet me and for us all to get to know one another. It's a big day we are spending together, and we need to know we're comfortable and click (I am pretty easygoing actually).
I choose to meet in person over video, however if you are in a regional area I will prefer to do video meetings, or Facetime!
I usually meet at Banjo Cafe in Glenelg, or St Francis Winery Resort at Walter's Restaurant for great coffee at Reynella!
Yes, this problem I find very valubale in solving! USB's can and do eventually fail so please also make an effort to copy and transfer your precious memories to your own backup systems over the long-term. However, I will backup your precious photo files for 3 years on 2 x External Hard Drives, 1 x NAS loal network server hard drive (better than a hard drive) and in an online secure server. After the 3 years though, there's no guarantee but depending on storage capacities backup may be for much longer than 3 years...
Well, I actually pride myself on my ability to enhance, improve and perfect your images efficiently. That's me, forever told I'm efficient.
I can get the social media sized photos online to you in 3-7 days, but please allow 2 weeks as life can get busy, and I love to revisit your photo collection after stepping away for a day, to revisit it all with fresh eyes for a great finishing look.
Regarding the USB that I post out to you via tracked registered post; please allow 2 weeks. xx

Expert Advice
As a wedding professional, Jodie Pope Photography offers expert advice to help couples plan their perfect day. Ask a question or read their expert advice.
Get Expert AdviceDo we get all the raw photos as well as the edited ones?
I was wondering whether it's normal to get two sets of photos, like, all the original ones and then the edited ones? Do we pick the ones to be edited or does the photographer do that?
Jodie Pope Photography
Please view the original RAW photo files as being like the canvas on which a photographer then creates their art. It feels like a really naked experience sharing any RAW files, and every photographer is creating their own expression of art through their own work. Not all photos make it to the final cut for various reasons, and we only want you to have the best.
If a photographer were to hand over their RAWS, they could be edited in ways that aren't authentic to that photographer, and not be a true representation of their work, therefore 99% of photographers will decline any request for the RAW images, and only provide their edited files and work.
How to decide on a wedding photographer
Hi. There are so many amazing wedding photographers out there, I'm getting decision anxiety. How do you know your photographer is the one for you? Thanks!
Jodie Pope Photography
Hello! This is a fundamentally very important question to ask. Things to take into consideration are:
- Have you looked through the photographers online albums, or social media and seen enough of their wedding work to say, yes I will be happy with that and it is what I want.
- Some people value a set budget, and have a budget in mind, others value the experience and the final work that is produced no matter the cost, and some want both. Ask yourself what is at the top of the list.
- There are so many styles of work out there from all the amazing photographer artists, from simple photos in true colours with enhancements, all the way through to incredibly use of natural lighting, lighting equipment and artistic work produced in post-production on amazing editing software. Again, ask yourself something like this, ''do I want true colours, boho look, moody photos, earthy tones, muted colours, high contrast photos, super styled, amazing location only photos''. Pinterest is a great resource to use and to find the words for the style you're envisaging and want to have from a photographer.
- Will you feel comfortable with your photographer? Do they offer to chat in person, on the phone, or via video for as long as you need to asnwer all your questions. Do they seem to click you with? Definitely start with people's personal bio on the websites and social media, then meet them.
- Hunt down reviews on google, facebook, easyweddings, and any other place you can find for that photographer to see what others have felt of the experience.
- Lastly, what is on offer from the photographer in the package you are looking at? Do they meet this need for you, or if you ask them will they do it for you?
What language should I use to describe the vibe/tone of photos I want to a wedding photographer?
Is there a way of describing the different styles that is standard with wedding photographers?
Jodie Pope Photography
Photographers are visual creatures, I know I am and even better if you have a photographic memory.
I always say to customers, please share with me the photos that you have seen online so I can get an idea of what you are after. I also suggest sharing pinterest profiles to get a collection going! This helps greatly for posing and general tone for editing!
