The band comes as a 10-piece outfit but can downsize to an 8-piece or 6 piece to suit.

Late in the Evening offers a customisable platform for a diversified evening of entertainment: for example:

• Canapes’ > acoustic duo:  guitar and vocals:   solo jazz piano or piano and vocals:  
  small jazz combo 3-4 musicians etc …
• Entrée’ > Light background music ranging from:  any combination, jazz, Latin,
  Bossa Nova’s, soul:  or DJ Easy listenting of your choice
• Dinner music > Light dinner music provided by the musicians:  or:  DJ easy listening music of
  your choice.
• Finally Dance Sets: >  Back-to-back dance sets:  Rock, Pop and Disco till you drop...
• Sound:  We provide and cater sound engineering for the smallest of wedding receptions to the largest of rooms 300+ guests

Additions to the Reception: 

• Wedding Ceremony: Music: solo guitarist or duo:  guitarist and singer:  solo piano/ keyboard/organ or duo pianist with singer:  solo trumpet player with organ or piano.
• Marriage Celebrant: Mr Murray Phyland, Marriage Celebrant for your service if required.  Murray is a gem!  He’s such a lovely human being, always smiling, and guaranteed to keep you smiling along with him…

The 'Late in the Evening' band holds a cherished place in my heart. Having played trumpet all my life, I discovered a passion for Latin, Funk, Soul & Disco in my teens and suddenly yearned to manage bands in these genres. I've since performed with Melbourne's finest musicians, have spent two decades as a professional pit musician, and currently teach and direct school bands. I am blessed to share this musical life with my wife, a classical pianist who holds my utmost love and affection.
