Something upbeat that will help me remember one of the best moments of my life!

I so hear you! There's so many awesome ones, but usually the best will be the one that has that special ring for you guys! What do you just feel happy when you hear it? And it doesn't have to do with love or weddings, like you say it's the fun song you celebrate to! We've done 'Hey, Soul Sister', 'I'm Yours', 'Fire and the Flood', an old 80's song you love would be my choice again, such fun ;) 'Better when I'm dancin', 'Can't Stop the Feeling', 'Happy', 'Locked out of Heaven', even a theme song you like - the more unique you'll certainly remember it whenever you hear it again! All the best with your fun choice!
is it wrong to play sad songs at weddings? or songs about break ups
some of my favourite songs are about break ups!
Dorothy in the Woods
Great question! It's your wedding so you can do what you like. If songs are special to you then it will be special if the songs are deivered in the right setting. I've payed sad songs in memory of loved ones who have past and tears were flowing and it was so beautiful. We have played an original song for a lovely couple whereby the lyrics referred to the grooms mother who had past. I get goose bumps when I think about that moment. He broke down in tears, his family and new wife comforted him and he looked up and smiled. Real human emotion is beatiful and a wedding is filled with it. Let the tears flow and if it special to you, it will be a special part of your wedding. Regards Casey
Which goes first, the first dance or Father/Daughter dance? Thanks!
Dorothy in the Woods
Thanks for the question. These days it seems anything goes though we have performed in the sequence Bride and Groome then Father Daughter then Mother Son and it was really nice. The couple chose 3 special songs and we played for them live through each dance. Really special moments. Regards Casey

Hi Laura. It was a pleasure to be a part of your wedding and to learn your Vance Joy song. Fire and the flood is now one of our favourites so thank you for asking us to learn it. Thanks for the review and cheers to you two! xoxo
