How many sets will you play?

We'll do 1 x 40min funky jazz, instrumental set at the start of the night, or during meals - basically at a point in the evening when you want some vibe but no dancing yet. Then we'll do either 3 x 40min or 2 x 60min party sets. It may not seem like a lot of music but once you factor in speeches, meal service and cake cutting etc, it's heaps! In our experience, often we have to cut songs from our set as speeches run over and we have to finish by a certain time!

About

I'm a full-time performer and artist in Melbourne... and I honestly have the best job ever. This band was started by our former disco queen Phoebe who moved on to do other amazing projects, leaving me at the helm of a spectacular musical crew. Somehow the band has the holy trinity of traits for any bands - everyone is exceptionally talented, we love hanging out together and we love playing music. Nothing makes us happier than sharing what we do and seeing smiling faces on the dance floor.

So many guests came to us after the wedding commenting on how good the band was. Exceptional musicians and artist that will guarantee you an amazing night! Shannen was our vocal lead and she was spectacular. We had lots of kids at the wedding and it was a tough crowd to control and they did an amazing job. They learnt your song and were super flexible with how the sets were organised. Totally recommended!!

The Night Creatures were absolutely perfect for our wedding! They were amazing musicians and set the mood beautifully, making our ceremony special and then getting everyone dancing in the reception. So many of our friends and family came up to us afterwards and commented on how awesome the band was. Diego was very professional and worked hard to make sure everything was perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend them, hopefully I'll get to hear them again at a friends wedding or party :)

Unlike most brides I didn't care about getting everything perfect because I knew that if I just got the music and drinks right everything else would fall into place and that's exactly what happened. I've been dancing to Phoebe's music for years so it was a real honour to finally have Phoebe and the Night Creatures all to ourselves! These guys just love doing what they do - a labour of love you might say - and they really bring their all. The arrangement of our first dance track was beyond beautiful. I couldn't get my guest off the dance floor at the end of the night (partly because the band didn't want to leave either). Love you guys!! You sprinkled our night with your disco magic and we're eternally grateful 🥰

We had Phoebe play in a duo for our ceremony and a couple of sets during canapes and drinks post ceremony. They were wonderful, set the ceremony tone so perfectly and guests are still commenting on how great they were. Very easy to work with in the planning stages too, lovely person to chat with and will happily learn new songs for the ceremony!

Can’t praise these guys highly enough. We found them through our venue. When we spoke to Phoebe on the phone to organise things before the wedding she was so lovely and very excited to play at our wedding. The whole process for booking Phoebe and the Night Creatures was seamless and a pleasure. As we live interstate we hadn’t heard them play live until the night, we were so thrilled with their performance, it absolutely exceeded our expectations. Phoebe and the band read the mood of the room perfectly. Almost everyone at the wedding was on the dance floor for the whole two sets. After the wedding there lots of comments about how great the band was and many said Phoebe and the Night Creatures were best band they’d experienced at a wedding. Definitely book these guys if you love a funky soul twist on your favourite tunes. Final word of advice, we choice we the six piece option with saxophonist, the sound was amazing. So if your budget allows it’s a great idea. Hope they’re available for your special day.

Which goes first, the first dance or Father/Daughter dance? Thanks!

It's completely up to you, however for all the weddings we've done, the first dance usually comes first. Father daughter dance works really well as the first song in the next set. I wouldn't put it after the first dance - usually guests love to come and dance after the first dance, so if you do a second dance whereby the guests can't join in, it might lose momentum a bit... but it's completely up to you guys! :)
