FAQ

You can absolutely trust that there will never be awkward silences between stes. If we are not playing live, we run a series of playlists through our PA that always suit the moment.

Sure can. Just put together a Spotify playlist and share the link with us. We'll have the playlist uploaded and ready to go!

Absolutely. This is a service we provide free of charge. In fact, Adam MC's around 90% of the weddings we perform at.

It all depends on the events of the evening and the run sheet, but generally around 15 - 20 minutes.

Yes we do. This is something that every wedding entertainment company should provide for you.

We have an extensive song list on our website to choose from but If you can't find the tune you want we'll absolutely learn it for you.

You only need to pick the songs for your key moments like walking down the aisle and your first dance. We know what tunes will get the party started after that.

Yes we can. We have multiple sound systems and one of them is battery operated.

Well.... we admit, it looks pretty nuts when they are ALL five star reviews, but Yes. We are. All reviews are completely verifed by the Easy Weddings Team. We work incredibly hard behind the scenes, before the day, to make our couples have the most hassle free and memorbale day.

Something Borrowed were amazing! Just what we wanted for our wedding - a laidback and friendly pair who know such an extensive songlist and could perfectly get the balance between lovely chilled acoustic versions of some our fave songs for during dinner but could easily step it up a gear into incredible party music for dancing! Thank you guys - all our guests raved about you! Callum & Neil

Brendan and Adam are the bomb! As muso's and MC's they were exactly what we were looking for! There flexibility, fun approach and genuine nature made them a hit with everyone. Our family are still talking about how great they were and we loved every minute, from the acoustic rendition as i walked down the aisle to the community sign along over dinner and the dance party later! Thanks for being awesome guys!

Well thank you so much Mrs Blick!! We honestly left your wedding with such a great feeling. Your friends and family were just all so great. They loved their music and loved a good time, which makes our job easy. Thanks again for having us and thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. All the best for the future!

January 2018

Brendan & Adam, I've been dying to find a minute to thank you both for your fantastic work at our wedding on Saturday. You guys were truly a pleasure to work with through the whole process and most importantly your music was a hit with our family and friends right from the very start. Your acoustic work at the ceremony was superb (we got many comments on how wonderful you sounded) and the atmosphere you provided through all aspects of the night was perfect. Not only did you have a great song list of your own, you read the cues to keep the dance floor full all night. You were even more than willing to accept requests (from both cultures) making the experience enjoyable for all! Finally, I cannot sing your praise highly enough for how adaptable you were regarding the timeline and set times. Like most weddings, I'm sure, we ran extremely late and struggled to fit in the planned sets so you happily accommodated and once the dance floor was open, played for at least an hour and a half straight (without a break or food) to help us keep the party going! That was completely beyond our expectations and we cannot thank you enough. As we've been catching up with our family and friends in the aftermath of the wedding, almost every one of them have commented on how great the band was and most of them even noticing how you played without a break, making the back end of the night a wonderful talking point! So one last time, we'd love to thank you both soooooo very much and let you know how much we appreciate the work you put in. You will be highly, highly recommended to everyone we speak to! Love, Tania & Terence Upoko 😊 xox

Thanks you so much guys!! We had a great time. All your friends and family were fantastic and we absolutely loved the island dancing. It was awesome to watch. Honestly, it was our pleasure to keep playing right through and as you said, 85% of weddings do not run exactly to time so I'm just glad we could make up the dancing time for you guys.

What are popular wedding entrance songs for the bride/groom?

Something Borrowed

Hey... Congrats on your engagement!! Exciting times ahead!! I'm pretty sure you meant for the reception entrance, but I'll run with the crowd here and answer both ceremony entrance and reception entrance. We might just sway your ceremony decision....haha.

So, for us, we love the "hear a pin drop, take your breath away, not a dry eye in the house" type song.  Played acoustically with the right arrangement, any song can pull this off. So if there's something you wanted to hear but thought it wouldn't fit, hire the right person and it will! Some musicians once hired, including us, will include a demo of the song played the way you want to hear it while walking down the aisle.

In saying that, our most popular ceremony songs are:

A Thousand Years - Christina Perry

Marry Me - Train

The One - Kodlaine (just recently become really popular at weddings and sounds absolutely beautiful with just acoustic guitar and vocals)

Making Memories of Us - Keith Urban

Make You Feel My Love - Adele (another show stopper with just acoustic and vocals)

All You Need Is Love - The Beatles

Reception entrance - I'm all for picking an upbeat banger! Generally a great MC should be trying to get your guests into a great vibed up mood for the entrance and a cracking song just takes it to the next level. Of course.... just my opinion!

Here's some from our last month or weddings (beware, it's pretty varied!!)

Signed, Sealed, Delivered - Stevie Wonder

Happy - Pharell Willilams

All I Do Is Win - DJ Khaled, T Pain, Ludacris, Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg

Best Day Of My Life - American Authors

You're The Best Thing - Style Council

Sorry - Justin Beiber - That was a pretty funny choice actually, brought the house down...Lol

Good luck with your big day! I'm sure it will be amazing whatever you go with.... remember to soak it all up and have a blast!

Cheers,

Adam Ray - Something Borrowed

Band or DJ or both?

I'm thinking about having a live band during the ceremony, and a DJ at night. How much realistically should I expect to pay for each? Or should I just go with one for the entire day?

Something Borrowed

Hey Roxanne,

Congrats on your engagement! Happy days ahead! So, I guess you have to ask yourself what you are after. If you're after anything EDM, then I would say go for a DJ. If you're after music that will cater to all ages at your wedding, most good wedding bands will nail it. Of course, I 'm biased, I will always think live music trumps a DJ. Big decision though. Whoever you go with, ask all the questions you want, no question is a silly question. Music is the biggest make or break part of the night. If you're interested, we play both ceremony and reception and we can MC the night for you for around the 2k mark. That's the whole day covered. This is 90% of our gigs. One less service you have to worry about when it's all in one. Pricing is extremely varied between acts, but I will say you get what you pay for. An experienced band or DJ are worth their weight in gold. It'll bring your night to life! Hope this helps!

Help with my wedding music

Am really stuck for wedding music re cutting cake, bridal waltz etc

Something Borrowed

Hi there,

First off, congrats on your engagement! What an exciting time ahead! It looks like my colleagues from other bands and duos have pretty much covered all the answers there. If your talking ceremony songs, we can do a really pretty acoustic arrangement of anything you choose, so I would say go with a song that really hits a spot with you and you finance. It doesn't need to be known by your guests at all. Just run with it. As far as the reception goes, as some of the other answers have stated, keep the music varied and not too obscure as there is a huge demographic of people with different tastes all wanting to have a dance and sing along. A good wedding band will know which song to play at the right moment to keep the dance floor full. Here's some of my favourite songs for walking down the aisle or the first dance that we've played, that are not too obvious are (Generally played acoustic with vocals):

Kiss me - Six Pence None the Richer

Turning Page - Sleeping At Last

Thank You - Led Zeppelin

Make You Fell My Love - Adelle

Real Love - The Beatles

The First Day Of My Life - Bright Eyes

Good Luck Kim! I hope your day

Stay With You - John Legend

Only You Can Love Me This Way - Keith Urban

As for cutting the Cake, it really is such a fleeting moment that we generally play the original artist recording which 9 times out of ten doesn't make it to the end of the song. I have created a loop of the start to 'Sky Full Of Stars' by Coldplay and usually play that.... couples seem to love it!

Good Luck, I hope this helps and I hope you have a fantastic wedding day!!!
