Hello! My name is Phoebe and I have a vision. I want to challenge your views of a classically trained singer. Apart from transporting guests at events and weddings with my singing, I am preparing for my future in opera and producing my own concerts. I value business skills and take the business side of my work seriously. I am studying small business and online marketing. On my weekends, I sing mass at St Mary's Church, paint cats and cook or bake up a feast. :)

I naturally would love to sing with a live piano. Having a live accompaniment rather than a pre-recorded has always been my preference.
Sometimes a venue doesn't have a piano and the costs of getting one in can be high, so for whatever reason you'd prefer a backing track, I am more than happy to find the best one for your day.
My style is more aligned with Ceremonies.
That being said, I am available for Receptions. I'd be most suitable for background music during dinner/ mingling. I would recommend getting a Band or DJ for some epic dancing after the meal.
I can sing up to 40 minutes at your ceremony.
Usually, I perform 3 - 5 songs during the actual ceremony and 10 - 15 minutes of music before the brides entrance.
I do have a couple of pianists that I work with regularly and know of several more.
I am more than happy to inquire if my regulars are available on your behalf.

My dad and his fiance are about to get married this summer and I’m in charge of selecting songs for the whole day. The only song set I’m missing are the songs to be played during the ceremony itself. I was thinking of playing the song my dad’s fiance sang during the first time they met in an international dating social event. But I was thinking of using it for their first dance together. Another option was using the first song they sang together during karaoke night the day she first met our family. What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

I guess it really depends on what you want the songs to do. Do you want the songs to reflect them as a couple? Then I'd choose songs that they both know and love!!
As for some common ceremony songs, Everything by Michael Bublé is great. If you want something more classical or traditional Ave Maria is a common choice.

Do musicians charge by the hour?
I am thinking of booking a singer to sing our entrance song only and wondering musicians charge by the hour?I already have a pianist and violinist and feel I would like it if a musician would also play the song.I am based in Adelaide for a winter wedding.

Hi TendalDzeka,
Speaking as a singer, we generally charge per song or bracket of songs (Ie. 3 x 15minutes over 2 hours). Some musicians will have packages which can make it simpler.
One thing to keep in mind is how long you want the singer and other musicians to be present, if it's longer than a certain package that has the amount of singing you want, you may be quoted an extra fee just for their time.
