It’s recommended to book your wedding DJ at least 6–12 months in advance, especially during peak wedding seasons (spring and summer). As a popular DJ I often get booked quickly.
Absolutely! Most wedding DJs encourage couples to provide a playlist or list of must-play songs. They can also take requests from guests on the day, depending on your preferences. in fact you are welcome to select all the music you like to be played for the entire day or if you trust my experience jprovide ust the main wedding songs like entrance and first dance etc and leave the rest to me...
Yes, most professional wedding DJs should offer a consultation to discuss your music preferences, timeline, any special requirements and get a clear vision of what your big day should be like.
DJs and weddings DJs typically play a wide variety of genres, from classic hits to modern pop, rock, R&B, and even cultural or traditional music. They tailor the playlist to suit your tastes your guests and the vibe of your wedding. My experience is extensive with many genres and knowledge, and carry my lifetimes collection of over 300000 tracks with and are updated monthly...
Yes, unless travelling by plane, professional DJs bring their own high-quality sound systems, microphones, and lighting equipment. They ensure everything is set up and tested before the event and is reliable.
A great question as over the last few years I have heard horror storys of DJ not turning up, BUT as a reputable DJ, I have backup plans, including a network of trusted DJs who can step in if needed. Always ask about their contingency plan when booking. and in over 10000 gigs only one was missed due medical emergency and was not a wedding..
Many wedding DJs also act as MCs, making announcements, introducing speeches, and keeping the event running smoothly. Be sure to confirm this when booking. Also as professional who has had a national radio talkback show I have a lot of experience in communication.
Yes, most DJs require a deposit (usually 20–50% of the total fee) to secure your date. The balance is typically paid before the wedding day. As a bespoke DJ that you know I only confirm once payment has been made.
Of course its important to have a free consultation or meeting to discuss your needs and ensure I'm the right fit for your wedding.
Most wedding DJs dress formally or in accordance with your wedding’s dress code (e.g., suit and tie). Confirm their attire preferences when booking.
