The Lonely Weekenders are wedding music specialists here to guide you through the process and create the perfect soundtrack for your big day. They have over four decades of combined professional music experience and have performed at countless weddings. One of their most common pieces of feedback is how well they can read the room when performing and how they make everything (including the lead-up) fun and easy. A large repetoire and plenty of unique song choices, set them apart from a regular party band.

Unlike many other wedding bands, The Lonely Weekenders are not an agency. They operate in a boutique fashion, always performing with the same core band members. They love performing with each other, practising with each other, and jamming with each other! It makes such a difference to the sound and energy of a performance when the musicians are friends. They're all about keeping the wedding entertainment process simple!

Then it's time for your reception. They'll work with you to figure out what you want. They can start with some bangers right away to get people dancing before dinner, or they can be more ambient while people are mingling/eating and then turn it up once dinner is finished.

Yes! If there's a special song you're after for your ceremony make sure to let them know.
They sure do. This generally costs $250 + GST. Make sure to let them know if this is something you're after so they can prepare you an accurate quote.
They sure do! They have all their own gear. All they need from you is a power outlet. They will also work with the venue/planner to ensure everything will look and sound tip-top on the big day. Their PA system is suitable for up to 180 guests. If you're having a large wedding please let them know when they are preparing your quote.
They can come prepared; it's your big day, after all. They can bring a battery-powered sound system for an additional cost. Make sure you let them know when they are preparing your quote.
Generally, a standard booking period is approximately 5 hours. During a standard reception, they play up to 4 sets of live music (e.g. 180 mins of live music).
A standard reception would consist of 1-2 shorter chilled sets while people eat dinner and mingle, followed by 2 longer dance sets. Sets go for 45-60 mins.
All set break music is covered so there is a continuous atmosphere during the night through their sound system (they have their own playlists but are happy to craft one with you, or just send them your Spotify playlist).
They sure do! A lot of the weddings they perform in are not in metropolitan Melbourne or Geelong. Make sure to let them know your venue location and they can build any travel related costs into your quote. Generally this will comprise of petrol/distance and occassionally accomodation if the musicians are not able to safely drive home before 1am.
Nope! Having played at countless weddings and also having been on the other side of the fence themselves, they know it's daunting but ALSO know how to help. They'll make the whole process easy for you, and you've already made the best decision: you want live music! Nothing beats live music at a wedding.

Most bands are happy/willing to travel and will build this into your invoice. We don’t charge travel for gigs that are within a 45 minute drive of where we are based (in our case: Geelong), beyond that we charge for petrol and in some instances accommodation (so we aren’t driving home at crazy hours). When you search for your wedding band or DJ start with looking for bands that are based in the nearest city/regional city. Most people would consider all our local wedding venues regional, but for us they’re just around the corner!
