I think my reviews tell it all but my strength is my experience in the wedding industry, having played at over 500 wedding receptions. I know what's required to make a successful reception. My dedication to my clients to make sure the music is exactly what they want, I like to get the right amount of input form the bride and groom and let my talent do the rest.

I offer a one price all-inclusive package for $975

Price includes:

  • Any music between 6.00pm and midnight (reception only)

  • A Comprehensive meeting with you 4 weeks prior to your wedding

  • A formally dressed DJ, (suite and Tie)

  • Minimum 4 light affects

  • Your choice of DJ facade, love hearts, stereo boom box, plain black, plain white or funky 80s.

  • Early setup (if required)

Yes, conditions apply; this will depend on DJ setup location.

Yes, I do encourage requests, although we will discuss what is suitable and what is not at our meeting.

Yes I can provide a basic MC service, conditions apply and extra fee charged of $550.

Yes, Public Liability insured and PPCA licenced.

I require an area of 1.5mx3.0m for the safe setup of our equipment. Outdoor function must be fully enclosed and protected from the elements.

240 volt power within 5 metres of the DJ setup.

Yes, conditions apply, extra fee charged depending on the location of the venue.

No, a deposit isn’t required, although we request that any cancellations be advised ASAP.

Payment can be made at our meeting or one week prior to your wedding either by cash or EFT

Dean Downes was so amazing, from the day we contacted up until the wedding. He will provide you with as much or as little assistance as you would like when choosing music. We were very set on playing mostly the songs we wanted and he delivered this amazingly, as well as filling the rest of our wedding with similar style songs. He coordinated with our MC (who was my uncle) on the day to ensure everything went perfect. Dean co-ordinated prior to the wedding day with the venue to ensure they had everything he needed to set up. Our guests danced all night and commented on how good he was. Thanks so much Dean we will be sure to use you for our next celebration.

Would recommend Dean to absolutely anyone for anything! he got back to me straight away and was extremely affordable compared to everyone else. he isn't your 'karaoke machine' type DJ either. All music was perfectly played and really well mixed into each song at the end. Everyone commented on how good he was and all had a great night. My MC got along with him really well too. He even played specific music that I wanted and supplied to him on a USB stick. Very helpful, easy to deal with, has great tips and ideas to help you along the way and is always in contact with you. So glad we went with him and not anyone else!

Dean was great to deal with and helped us when we needed him last minute. He set up and entertained guests all night while working well with the venue and our MC. His playlist is very broad and he worked with us to get more unique songs. Overall, we were very happy with our decision to use ACT Selectsounds and would recommend them to other couples.

ACT Selectsounds Mobile Music was amazing!!! Dean was so good at reading the crowd and playing the right music! We had people dancing the whole time at our reception, which made it such a fun night and great vibe!! We also received many comments from our guests who said how great the DJ was and that they loved all the music he played! We would highly recommend ACT Selectsounds for any couple that is getting married, as Dean really was amazing!
