Get Expert AdviceDoes it matter if I'm not having dancing at my wedding?
I don't have a dance floor and my wedding is during the day :)
is it bad luck to play break up songs at weddings?
some of my favourite songs are sad lol, do you often have couples ask you to play non-love songs?

I think you make your own luck on the big day, and if you like a song that's what really counts. That said, it can be good to make the special moments (walk down the aisle, first dance etc.) that much warmer of happier with music to suit. Just remember it's YOUR day so whatever you want is what your should ask for!
what do you think is more entertaining? a band or a dj
i want everyone on the dancefloor all night

A pretty common question this one, but a good one!
As a musician I'm pretty biased definitely, but I'd have to say a band. It's in the way live musicians can taylor all your favourite songs to suit the vibe of a room and interact with your guests. Of course, the beauty of a DJ is their huge range of tracks, but given you will generally only hear about 80 songs (maximum) throughout the whole day, any half decent band will have a large repertoire to pull from and hopefully take your requests.
My personal repertoire sits at about 1400 cover songs, and I send a list to my clients to pick out their favourite tracks and work from that on the day (taking spontaneous requests if desired). The band never has any issues getting people up and dancing, and is happy to learn any new songs for a couple if they wish, we also (like all bands I'm sure) play recorded music between our sets, so that kind of gives you both feels.
Still, it all depends on the vibe you're after. Some groups just prefer DJs to live music, and that's fine too. At the end of the day, it's all about you - so just go with what will make you happy and your guests will feel that and follow suit!

Thanks for a great question!
Music isn't just good for dancing to, it's one of the most powerful tools you can use to create the perfect vibe for any occasion. Restaurants, pubs, gyms, even shopping centres use background music to create a mood for their patrons. In terms of your wedding, think about the feel of your event and your guests and go from there - light acoustic music is great for a relaxed "Sunday afternoon" kind of vibe, or use classic jazz to add that extra touch of class. Just because you're not planning on having dancing doesn't mean music can't help you have a great time!
Hope that helped somewhat!
