OVERVIEW

ALL STAR is lead by natural born entertainer Joe Main. His versatile vocals allow him to sing smooth crooner tunes one minute, powerful rock the next and everything in between. As Vocal Coach on Channel 10's reboot of Young Talent Time in 2012, Joe worked along side musical director John Foreman and Australian icon Tina Arena.

Along with fronting ALL STAR every weekend, Joe continues his session and back-up vocal work, most recently for TV shows and artists such as: Australia's Got Talent, X Factor Australia, Anthony Callea and Daryl Braithwaite.

Joining Joe at the front of the stage is vocalist Ash Watson. Whether she's wowing the crowd with her spine tingling version of "At Last" or belting out a soul diva classic, Ash adds that extra touch of fun and class to your wedding.

FAQ

1. We wrote a blog post a while ago called "The Truth About Cover Bands", which highlights 2 very important questions you should ask any band before hiring them. Please check it out at www.allstarcoverband.com.au/truthaboutcoverbands

2. We consistently add to our song list. We don't play the same old songs show after show. Of course, we play the classics that we know work well, but we also make sure to keep on top of the latest songs topping the charts.

3. No hidden costs. No unnecessary agency fees. You book direct.

1. Awesome live music by us!

We work with you to make sure our sets are seamlessly worked in and around the formalities of your night.

2. Background music on iPod to play in-between our sets

If you want to provide your own background music, not a problem. But know that we have it covered for you if you need it.

3. MC'ing

For no extra charge, Joe is happy to provide basic MC'ing duties. For weddings, this includes welcoming the guests, special announcements, introduction of the bridal party, bouquet/garter formalities and introduction of speeches.

4. Professional sound production and lighting equipment INCLUDING an experienced Sound Engineer

Of course!

We're happy to learn a few specific songs for your event. Whether that be for your bridal dance, parents/bride-groom dance or just because you have to have us play it!

If its playable, we'll play it!

Yes! You can hire one or more of us to play at your ceremony. You get a discounted rate if you also book us for your reception.

Every event is unique, so the price will vary depending on a number of factors. The 3 main factors involved are venue location, number of guests attending and the number of musicians playing. We can be anything from a 4 piece to a 7 piece band.

We can tell you straight away that we charge a minimum of $2000. Some events will be close to or at that price and others will be more.

For example: a 7 piece corporate show in Bendigo for 500 guests will cost more than a 4 piece wedding in Camberwell for 80 guests, as there are more players, extra distance to travel and more sound production equipment required for the former.

For an exact quote for your event, just send us a message! Let us know the venue location and how many people attending and we'll get back to you in 48 hours.

We were extremely pleased with Joe and his team. They made our night truly special. There is nothing quite like having a live band at your wedding. Joe was also an excellent MC and we felt that we were in a safe pair of hands. Vocally these guys are tiptop and very responsive to our tastes. Thanks again Joe and team!

Joe and the band were fantastic, easy to deal with and really got everyone up and dancing for the night, even went above and beyond by organising music for the entrances and operating the fog machine for first dances. A great band, I can highly recommend them!

how much does a live musician at your ceremony usually cost?

ALL STAR - Top 40 & Retro Cover Band

Hi!

As many others have said, it does depend on individual circustances and every bands rate charged in different, BUT as a guide:

If ONLY playing at the ceremony, then I would charge my clients a minimum of $400 per player.

If ALSO playing at the reception, then the add on charge for ceremony would be minimum $150 per player.

Hope that helped :)

any must-have songs for weddings?

ALL STAR - Top 40 & Retro Cover Band

Hi!

I don't think there are must-haves, but my band for instance adheres to one particular philospophy, which is "It's not about us, its about YOU". Meaning, any good band should only play songs they that know well with a general audience and NOT just play songs that they the musicians like themselves.

Its not our job to be precious about our song choices. Our job is to fill the dance floor and keep it filled!

Which goes first, the first dance or Father/Daughter dance? Thanks!

ALL STAR - Top 40 & Retro Cover Band

Hi!

Theres no hard-and-fast rule, but if you wanted to look at it in the very traditional manner, then having the Father/Daughter dance right before the Bridal Dance can work well. Straight after the father/daughter dance is finished, the Groom walks onto the dance floor, the Father gives the Brides hand to the Groom, the father leaves the dance floor and the bridal dance begins.

I've had many clients wanting to do it this way, so its certainly not unpopular.

Hope that helped!
