Everything is fine! The size and design of the ring can always be adjusted.

But modern technology makes it possible to coordinate every detail even at the stage of building a model. GS Diamonds jewellers may first show you a 3D image of the ring to avoid the unpleasant situation when you imagined the ring differently than it actually turned out.

Yes and no. It really depends on what your ring is made from, and where/how gemstones are set.

Gold, platinum and silver rings can almost always be made smaller. Things that might make sizing impossible are gems/diamonds set all the way around or if any settings are too delicate to withstand being shaped into a smaller size. Classic bands with no stones are easy to make smaller (or bigger!). The only time when in might be tricky is if there was a pattern going all the way around.

Most of the modern metal rings can’t be sized at all so you would need to buy a new ring insteaad. These include titanium, zirconium, tungsten, ceramic and steel.

When you’re wedding ring shopping, make sure you ask if the design and material you love is suitable for re-sizing.
