FAQ

It is standard etiquette to post wedding invitations 6-8 weeks in advance of your wedding date. Please keep this in mind that ordering invitations, that you order 3 weeks before your post date for Digital Printed invites, and 5-6 weeks before for Letterpress or Foil invites. We can cater for rush orders on request, please email us for more information.

We offer four printing methods: Flat Digital Printing, White Ink Printing, Letterpress Printing or Hot Foil Stamping.

Flat digital printing is a common form of printing, using digital machines the design of your choice is inked onto the paper. Our most inexpensive print method, the ink is flush with the paper, leaving it neither raised, or indented to the touch. Best for designs where multiple colors are used for a vibrant appearance.

White Ink printing is another form of digital printing using a specialised printer with only white ink. It sounds crazy that white ink does not exist in digital printing, but this method allows for beautiful white ink on dark coloured papers, especially navy and black stocks.

Letterpress printing is a luxurious print technique where plates are used on an antique machine to “press” the ink of choice into the paper. The machine feeds the paper and operated by a print artisan. Letterpress is best for designs with one or two colors, and where texture is appreciated.

Hot Foil stamping is another luxurious printing technique where plates are used for the application of metallic or pigmented foil on to a solid surface by application of a heated die, making it permanently adhere to the surface below leaving the design of the dye. Hot Foil stamping looks amazing on its own or perfectly paired with Digital or Letterpress printing techniques.

Great communication! Easy process and a really quick turn around. Really good suggestions and even sent a sneak preview which was great for us to see how it was packaged before we sent them out. We received a beautiful product in the end that was really high quality.

Is there a polite way to address that no +1s will be given?

Boutique Paperie

With the cost of weddings being high, or even just wanting a smaller intimate wedding, it is always a tricky situation when inviting guests without a plus 1. However, it is totally acceptable and your guests should respect your wishes on your wedding day!

We think the best way to tackle this (without being too direct) is to add a line on your RSVP stating "X seats have been reserved in your honour".

You may also then want to add the following

X of 1 accept.

X of 1 decline.

If you still have the cheeky guest that tries to change the numbers on the RSVP, then maybe it is a case by case basis that you allow or deny, but it is your day and you need to do what you're comfortable with.

All the best with it.

What date do I put the rsvp date as for my guests?

I think my venue needs final numbers 2 weeks before. So maybe 3 weeks before?

Boutique Paperie

We recommend asking your function centre the date that they require for you to provide them with final numbers. From that date I would work back around 4 weeks. This would then give you time if you need to follow up on guests that may have forgotten to return their rsvp. Generally if you put an rsvp of around 6-8 weeks prior to the event then should work well

Does anyone listen to the RSVP deadline?

Or should we make it much earlier than we need to

Boutique Paperie

Hi!!

It is etiquette for invited guests to listen and respond by the RSVP deadline. We know everyone leads busy lives so guests may innocently forget that they haven’t sent the RSVP back. We always recommend putting an RSVP date with a week or two leeway, leaving you time to follow up on the guests you are still awaiting reponses from, which hopefully is only a handful.
