Do makeup artists generally travel?

Hi, we're considering a semi-rural wedding, but not wanting to limit our suppliers to just the town. How far do makeup artists generally travel without charging extra, and at what point would they charge a travel fee? Thank you!

Yes most makeup artists do travel, I find it easier to be In the brides location for a wedding day. As for semi-rural you'll probably find a higher Travel Fee, allowing you to still have more options for suppliers.

Hi :)

a travel should always be addd to a makeup artist quote as we have to spend money on petrol and tolls most of the time it is a standard fee that increases depending on the distance of KM

for example standard fee is $30

for locations further than 40-50km $50-60

At Ninettes, we have specialised in bridal hair and make up for a number of years.  We have always offered in Salon or on location service for hair and/or makeup but we have a minimum requirement of three people. Bookings also depend on availability and distance.  We also charge a travel fee.

Hope this helps.

Most wedding suppliers that travel charge a travel fee.

I charge a travel fee (really a service charge for traveling to you.) Most suppliers have a minimum call out fee like any other trade comming to you,  then charged by the km if its  rural. It s also for your time as well as the distance. Hope this helps.

Heya,

Yes, most hairstylists and makeup artists (actually most vendors) charge a travel fee usually based on distance or time spent travelling. There can also be parking charges, valet, early start fees etc.

Personally, if it's going to take me more than 60mins to get to the bridal party and I have to start driving earlier than 5.30am to get there on time, I also require modest accommodation for the night before for myself and other staff who are booked for the wedding to be paid for by the client. This is to assure that we get to the destination safely without driving tired and greatly lowering the risk of a roo jumping out (which has happened to me before I had the accommodation requirement).

Basically, if you would like to have a "destination wedding" and require vendors to travel / stay the night or two, add an additional $10-15k to your budget as a rough guide because it adds up very quickly.

I hope this helps and I wish you all the best.

Having your suppliers chosen wihtin the town works really well, as they generally know eachother and can work togther with you to serve you best!

If you're keen on having suppliers travel to you, it can work well if there are no problems that arrise (car trouble, travel issues etc). If they are too far from the closest town, costs would be incfreased due to extra travel time/costs.

Travel costs are rising, and this would reflect in the travel fees charged. If you're arranging differnet suppliers (seperate hair/makeup artisits) who are not connected, double travel charges would be charged and may not be effective use of resourses.

Maybe to avoid travel costs you could come into the town and have your services done in a salon?

Absolutely - all bridal makeup artists will provide travelling for their services; however the distance and fees they charge for traveling will depnend on individual makeup artists.

Very rougly speaking, our team charges approximately $1 - $1.5 per stylist for every km of travel once it is outside the metropolitan area.  However it also depends on the size of bridal party, timing of the day, etc., so a lot of variables.  It would be best to check with your makeup artist.

Hi

Most makeup artists will travel, but all remote locations will incur travel costs. In terms of pricing this will vary on each Makeup Artist. Some  may charge per kilometres others may charge per hour. It is best to get a few quotes from your selected Makeup Artist and then work out your budget from there.

if the travel is quite far I have often had previous brides pay for overnight accommodation. This may work out to be a little bit cheaper,   this is something you may negotiate with your preferred Makeup Artist.
I hope this helps.
