if i have a makeup trial with a company, am i assured ill get the same artist for my wedding?

With our small Personalised business, yes you would as I am the only makeup artist. Sorry I cannot comment on bigger companies with more than one artist. However I would imagine if you request the same artist on the day, they would have to follow through with your request, as every makeup artist has their own unique style n technique and you wouldn't want something different on the day by another makeup artist.

Definetly a question to confirm at your trial.

How much is an average cost for makeup?

Hi there, I've been quoted around $900 for make up + eyelashes for myself and two bridesmaids and hair for us all plus a blow dry for my mum +$50 travel fee. Another bride has told me that is an outrageous price, so now I'm unsure. Is this an average price for hair and make up or would that be paying above average? Thanks!

Hi there

You can get a wide variety of prices when it comes to hair and makeup for weddings.

At Niche Hair & Beauty we offer packages for 3 or more in your bridal party. Which you have. To give you an idea of what we charge for hair and makeup together. There is a travel charge if you are out of our area too, most places charge this. So try and get someone close to you to avoid extra charges.

Bride -$220

bridesmaids -$200 each

mother of bride/groom $120

You are best to do your research and look at their previous work to give you an idea of what they do and whether you like their style. Hope this helps.

how do i make sure my makeup looks good all day?

I've seen wedding photos where the bride's makeup ends up looking terrible by the night time. how do I avoid this? I'm hoping to have a photoshoot during the night so I don't want my makeup to look awful... should I get my makeup artist to come back at night, or should I do my own touch ups?

That is a very good question. Always ask this question at your trial too.

It is important you find a makeup artist that uses good products. I use Napoleon at Niche. There are products that help prepare the skin and finish the makeup to help it last. I have brides and bridesmaid who say that their makeup lasted all night. However with eating and drinking at reception, lipstick does not last as well as the rest of the makeup. all you will need to do is touch up your lipstick for night photos.
