Get Expert AdviceWhat is the best kind of lipstick to wear on your wedding day?
I'm not sure what kind of lipstick to wear, matte? Or liner all over? Or a specific brand that stays on?
Can I bring my bridesmaids to my Makeup/Hair trials?
I'm indecisive and need a firm hand to tell me if I look good!
Makeup by Rose
Of course! Great opportunity if they are also getting their makeup done on the wedding day to talk to the makeup artist in regards to style they want on the day. Also makes the makeup artist's job a whole lot easier on the day if she already has some ideas both you and your bridesmaids would like.
How long should I set aside for my make up trial?
Makeup by Rose
I would definitely recommend an hour to an hour and a half for the trial. I also recommend doing your trial fairly early on. Nothing worse than absolutely hating the look after the trial and only having a month or two to find someone new for your wedding date. I have had this call A LOT. Also give your makeup artist loads of ideas to work off, what she might like and what you may like could be completely different things.
Best of luck! xx

Hi Kelly, I am going to throw a bit of a curve ball. When you decide on the finish you want (Matte, satin, gloss) I always suggest my brides start firstly with a lip tint, then a liner, then your lipstick or lip gloss of choice. This is purely so that when that lip colour does rub off and before you have a chance to reapply, the lip tint will still ensure you have a beautiful colour to your lips. Some brides opt for a lip tint to add colour, and then just add gloss throughout the day. Definitely something I recommend.
