Amanda is AMAZING!! I was fortunate enough to have Amanda do my makeup for my intimate wedding. Amanda not only created 2 different and beautiful looks to suit myself and my mother, but as a nervous bride she helped set the tone for the morning by prepping our skin with a relaxing mini pamper with facial stones! I felt so relaxed and was so happy with the end result! My makeup stayed allllll day and did not move, even after many many happy tears and dancing the day away! You can definitely tell Amanda not only has the knowledge and experience in this field, but she is absolutely passionate about what she does. I highly recommend Amanda!!

Amanda is amazing! She is so warm, kind and makes you feel so comfortable. From the day I did my trial with her, to the day of my wedding. She was so professional and made sure myself, my mum and my bridesmaid felt good and beautiful in our makeup. I've used a few make up artists in the past for special events and Amanda has by far been the most talented. The products she uses are great and I was really concerned about my skin getting oily throughout the day of my wedding, but it didn't at all! It was matte and stayed on the entire day! Even when we got caught in torrential rain for about 20 mins after the ceremony. If you're tossing up whether or not to go with Amanda - DO IT! You won't regret it!

I booked my bridal make up, my 3 bridesmaids and 3 mothers to have their make up done, everyone loved their make up so much and Amanda was amazing from start to finish. If you are looking for a full glam with a natural finish then look no further. Her make up is gorgeous, she really accentuates your natural beauty and does not make you appear or feel “overdone” or “cakey”. I was in love with my bridal makeup on my wedding day and I can’t recommend Amanda enough.

Amanda made my experience as a nervous bride amazing! I knew I was in good hands after our initial trial. Myself and my bridesmaids were all very pleased with our makeup and got many compliments through out the day and night. Not many touch ups were necessary as Amanda set our faces to perfection. Amanda treats you to a wonderful facial massage and prep before she begins your makeup, and it’s so relaxing and leaves your skin feeling hydrated and wonderful! I am quite self conscious of my skin and wanted full coverage with my base but didn’t want to look too caked, Amanda had a wonderful way of making me look dewy and natural but still flawless! Would highly recommend this makeup artist for any future brides out there! 🤍

What's better - fake lashes or eyelash extensions?

Hi! Wondering what to do with my lashes for my wedding. Should I get eyelash extensions, or should I ask for false individual lashes? Is there a preference from a makeup artist's perspective too?

Hi, Congratulations on your wedding! Im a makeup artist and personally I prefer individual lashes. I am not a fan of lash extensions for so many reasons. Lash extensions can look quite heavy especially in photos, this can create darkness /shadowing under the eye and if not done properly can drag the eye down. They can also fall out and look patchy and becasue you cant wear mascara, they come out ashy looking in photos.

With indiviudal lashes, they are more comfortable to wear, wont lift like a strip lash can. They are builable so you can have a more dramtic look if you wanted or just a few to add volume. I have had clients leave them on for a few days if they are careful with them.

If you do want to get extensions, make sure you trial it well before the wedding. I know girls that have had reactions to them which is not what you want on your wedding day.

Can a makeup artist to cover up birthmarks for the wedding?

Hi,

You can absolutely cover birth marks and tattoos ect. Using the right products that are colour matched to the skin combined with a special setting powder, the end result can look natural and be waterproof as well.

The best thing to do, would be ask your make up artist if she has the products and experience in covering the birth mark, tattoo ect and have a trial to make sure your happy with the result :)

what happens if i get sweaty on the day and sweat my makeup off?

For make up to last all day and still look fresh, it is really important that the skin is prepared well prior to make up. A good primer is a must as this helps with the skin becoming shiny and oily throughout the day. Primers can be used for filling in fine lines and pores as well as controlling oil flow and helping the make up to last all day, so make sure you mention your concerns so that they correct products can be used.

Most professional foundations are designed to last all day and if your skin is naturally oily then i would use a foundation designed for oilier skin. Setting sprays are used to lock in the make up and give it staying power even on the hottest of days.

If you do find that you still get a bit sweaty in the heat, a tissue or blotting papers work well to dry it up without distrubing the make up.

I also suggest having a trial this way you can see how the make up goes throughout the day :)
