When should I have my trial?

The trial can be anytime up to a month prior to the wedding. ( it’s good to have your dress and accessories to ensure you are happy with the look you’ve chosen, and you can wear the style home to try on with the dress)

Do you come to us for the Trial?

We come to you on the day of the wedding, for 4 or more people, hair and makeup. The bride comes to our studio for the trial.

How long does it take on the wedding day?

We like to have you finished 2-2 1/2 hours before the ceremony. This gives you time to have a light lunch, get dressed and have photos before the ceremony.

How do I prepare my hair and skin for my wedding day?

Drink lots of water all week to help make your skin glow. If you colour your hair, Have your final colour touch up a few days before ( so there’s no regrowth ) and no colour on the scalp.

Should my hair bye freshly washed on the wedding day?

Yes it’s great to have it washed, and dry ( no straightening iron, as this is difficult to re-curl )

I recently had Brides with Style do my bridal hair and make up as well for my bridesmaids. From my trial to the wedding day. Bree & Karin were amazing! The make up I asked Karin for is exactly what I wanted a nice natural look and it turned out amazing! Wish I could do it like that everyday! Bree tried a couple of different hairstyles for my trial and the one I chose couldn't have turned out better for my wedding day. The ladies are beautiful and make the day suer fun! The are so very professional and do exactly what you ask for - I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

I booked Brides with Style for my wedding in December of 2017. I had one trial and was blown away. Maree has such attention to detail and gave me style options based on my accessories, dress, style of wedding and even face shape. I have never experienced someone caring that much and giving me an honest opinion. During the trial, I actually ended up choosing a style that I didn't even thing I would initially have gone with. Brides with Style, did hair and makeup for my bridal party, mother, grandmother, and myself (Bride). I was blown away again even on my wedding day at the attention to detail and the quality of products used for both hair and makeup. I felt like a princess the whole time. Both the makeup and hair stylist made sure every step of the way that I loved what I saw in the mirror. It was so lovely to be included and so cared for during the big day! People always talk about 'the dress' and you'll feel complete once the dress is on I didn't feel like that at all.......Thanks to Brides with Style honestly made my day! I have never ever felt so beautiful.

Thank you so much Maree you did a stunning job. It was so lovely to have you apart of our special day. You were so lovely and your calming presence helped with my many nerves. It was a mission to get all the pins out at the end but was worth it as everyone's hair stayed in place all night even after a very enthusiastic Nutbush and the flower woman's worm battle with the MC.

Maree and Sophie were the perfect addition to my bride tribe the morning of the wedding. I had 4 bridesmaids, a flower girl, the mother of the bride and myself to get hair and makeup. The morning ran so smoothly and everyone was more than happy with the high quality hair and makeup by Maree and Sophie. They supplied us with touch up kits, which we didn't even need as the makeup lasted beautifully all day! Maree was always responsive to any communication from the initial enquiry to planning the trial and during the lead up to the day. I'm looking forward to my next event where I will 100% be reaching out to Maree and Sophie for my hair and makeup.

Brides with Style were such a fabulous team to work with for such a momentous occasion. Maree was so kind, caring and easy to communicate with from the initial consultation over the phone to the meeting with her and the team for the hair and the makeup trial, to the wedding itself, everything was so effortless. I had Libby complete my hair (who was actually also my celebrant and was the one who recommended Maree) and Bree completed my makeup, as well as my 4 bridesmaids and my mum also. The whole morning getting ready was so much fun, everyone was at ease and the ladies really listened and met the requests of everyone H&M to a tee. I can't recommend Maree and her team enough, they were fabulous and made the wedding morning such a fun memory! x

Do the bridesmaids also do a hair and makeup trial?

congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
Generally it is only the bride who has a trial. However it's up to each individual person.

When should I cut and colour my hair before the wedding?

Brides with Style

I recommend having your hair coloured and trimmed the week of the wedding.

For those who lighten/ foil their hair, preferably colour 2 days prior,as this will leave no regrowth .

Or if you add colour with darker shades, colour 3-4 days prior. This will leave the hair still vibrant and shiny ( with no telltale signs on the scalp.

What is a good style of make-up for a beach wedding?

Hi Lucia,

For all weddings we suggest good foundation and base, and for outdoor/ beach weddings, we consider the weather/heat, therefore a lighter base is more suitable.

( A trial prior to the wedding will give you an idea how well this will last on your skin)

Softer,natural shades of eyeshadows,blush and lip colour look great ( especially in the direct sunlight).

We always suggest individual eyelash extensions to enhance your own lashes and softly filled, perfect brows to finish your look.

Remember to drink lots of water, leading up to your wedding as this will help your skin to glow for your day.
