OVERVIEW

I have been privileged and blessed to indulge my passion for makeup and creative media in a professional capacity for almost twenty years and being freelance, my hours are completely flexible to be able to look after my brides 7 days per week, depending on my availability.

?

I've won over ten awards for my work and my customer service and those I'm most proud of are winning the ABIA (Australian Bridal Industry Academy) Queensland Makeup Artist of the Year in both 2008 and 2009, as well as being voted as one of ABIA's Top 10 Makeup Artists in Australia in 2010.

?

Another great achievement was being invited in 2019 to be the One Fine Day Bridal Affair Creative Director of hair & makeup and the makeup artist for their couture runway show featuring nine models for hair & makeup and fifty-five gowns from designers such as George Wu & Darb Bridal.  In 2018 I also launched my boutique creative agency, Sky Creative Group, where I represent some of Queensland's best rising creative talents.

?

Over my time in this industry, I have taken care of literally hundreds of beautiful brides and their attendants in Queensland and interstate and absolutely love the magic, romance and excitement of a wedding day.

Although I was originally trained at the Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academy, I have also undergone Masterclasses with:

?

Rae Morris

Lorna Evans

Brad Ngata

Dale Dorning

Eva Bergstrom,

?

and I am registered with MAC Australia and Charlotte Tilbury as one of their professional makeup artists.

?

My private studio is located in beautiful Dayboro village, just fifteen minutes from the outskirts of Brisbane, but you will usually find me working on-location somewhere in South East Queensland taking care of my commercial and bridal clients.

?

I have loved makeup and all things beauty and fashion since I was a little girl and my passion for the industry grows stronger each year.  When I'm bringing a bride's makeup & hair vision to reality, I feel so blessed to be love what I do every single day.

?

As I dedicate the entire day to my brides and accept only one wedding booking each day I am booked up eighteen months in advance and I use only the finest luxury products, such as:

MAC, Charlotte Tilbury, Chanel, Clarins, Laura Mercier, Kevyn Aucoin, Nars, Element Two, Stila, Bobbi Brown & Gucci Beauty.

Dedicating my day to my bridal parties means I will never begin your makeup earlier than I need to, arrive late from a previous booking or leave you half finished to rush away to another wedding.  Moreover, being an experienced editorial and commercial stylist, I will always stay until I can check my work in your photographers camera to ensure that it's perfect.

All I require to secure my availability is a $100 redeemable deposit and to make your wedding budgeting easier I accept all major credit cards and Afterpay.

FAQ

As soon as possible!  As I strictly book one wedding per day and accept bookings up to eighteen months ahead, my diary fills very quickly.

As weekend availability is always very limited, I schedule my Bride's trials at the time their wedding booking is confirmed, preferably twelve weeks prior to the Wedding Day.

I will travel wherever my Brides require me to on the day for a minimum fee.  Smaller bridal parties are welcome to come to my Studio or I can still travel with an additional surcharge.

With almost two decades in the wedding industry, I have taken care of literally hundreds of Brides and their attendants.

I allocate 45 to 60 minutes per person on the day.

I am a luxury Charlotte Tilbury and MAC Pro artist, so prefer to use the following:

MAC, Charlotte Tilbury, Estee Lauder, Chanel, Clarins, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Anastasia Beverley Hills, Benefit, Two Faced, Nars, Laura Mercier, By Terry, Stila, Giorgio Armani, Element Two & Marc Jacobs.

My pricing differs between Traditional and Airbrush applications and includes lashes.  As I provide a personal service, I prefer to quote according to my Brides requirements, so pricing is available by enquiry.

I will personally look after a maximum of six people and generally bring my assistant for Bridal parties larger than three.  When a bridal parties numbers more than six, I engage the services of another experienced makeup artist to assist with some components of the makeups, however I alone take care of the Bride.

I do offer very basic hairstyling for smaller Bridal parties, but prefer to direct Brides to my recommended experienced and professional Hair Stylist's.

Danielle did my makeup, and she got someone else to do my hair. She did a great job, but I wish I did a trial with her before as there would've liked some things different. She was really friendly on the day!

How can I ensure great wedding makeup?

Danielle Robinson Makeup Artist

Hi!

Congratulations on your engagement and on the amazing journey ahead of you as you plan your wedding and live a fabulous life together as husband and wife.

There are so many ways to ensure your makeup is flawless and lasts through the rigours of the day and it starts with preparing your skin as far out from the wedding as possible.  When my brides book with me, I send them a link to my twenty page Bridal Beauty eBook with everything they need to know to have them glowing and gorgeous for the day.  It's also crucially important to choose your makeup artist well, so here are a few questions you should any makeup artist you're considering booking:

  • How long have you been doing makeup?
  • Are you professionally trained?  Where or by whom?
  • How many bridal parties have you looked after?
  • How much was your most expensive brush?
  • What products do you use?
  • How many weddings do you book per day?
  • Do you have public liability insurance?
  • Do you have an abn?
  • Do you have a website?

These questions will help you avoid choosing a makeup artist who is either inexperienced; overbooks; is not running a professional business; isn't formally trained.

I hope this helps you and I wish you every blessing in your preparations.

Is it wrong to only have my makeup done on my wedding day if my bridesmaid don't want to pay?

Danielle Robinson Makeup Artist

Absolutely not!  It will be quite noticeable in the photographs, but if you only have one Bridesmaid it shouldn't be much of an issue.  When multiple Bridesmaids are all doing their own makeup it detracts from a polished finish to the Bridal party, but if you only have one and she has made that choice, you will stand out all the more - which is how it should be anyway!

How much do makeup artists charge for travel?

What are the usual rates and how far out can they travel?

Danielle Robinson Makeup Artist

Hello!

Thank you so much for posting your question and the answer is actually quite diverse as different artists charge different rates in most cases.

Personally, I don't charge any travel fees when travelling less than 50 kilometres from my Studio and then charge roughly $1 per kilometre whether I'm travelling by car or flying for a destination wedding.

I also have a minimum fee for mobile bookings but can add an additional call-out fee for smaller numbers.

I hope this helps you and be sure to let me know if you require any further information on my personal services for your Wedding.

Warmest regards,

Danielle Robinson Makeup Artist
