It's ideal to start planning your floral arrangements about 6-12 months before your wedding. Reach out to your preferred florist and inquire about their booking availability. While some may not be scheduling 18 months in advance, others might. Even if they're not currently booking, they may add you to their waiting list and notify you when bookings open for future wedding seasons. Keeping in touch with your favorite florist ensures you'll be prepared when the time comes to secure their services for your special day.

Be organised, your florist will love you for that. At least 3 months notice, but preferable 1 year before. Most florists are supper busy and booked thorugh out the year and if you don't plan ahead, you might risk not getting the right person for the job.

Lots of love,

Maz from Dusty Gyspsy.

Each wedding Florist will be different _ we do not book more than 12 months ahead of your date.

We service many weddings with many details for each wedding we do _ we like to be present each week and concentrate on a weekly basis on the

events of the week.

I normally place flower orders for Weddings 4 weeks prior to the Wedding date so my suppliers have enough time to source what I need. Some flowers are easily avaialble and I can pick up the day before but that is only for last minute orders and additions that come up. It also depends what flowers you are wanting for your Wedding day, for example the extra large Phalaenopsis Orchids you currently see everywhere are imports and my supplier asks for orders to come in at least 4 weeks prior to the Wedding date to make sure they can get what I am after.

Always chat to your florist to find out about availability and seasons of flowers, don't forget Mother Nature is still boss and directs the seasons and as we all know she can be quite unpredictable, especially in the past couple of years. So before you set your heart on  a particular flower check with your florist first.

I never promis availability of flowers/foliage and will always find amazing subsitutes should flowers/foliage be unavailable or the quality is poor.

Hope this info helps you.

ideally it is good to start looking at flowers once you have your theme and dress colours organised. I recommend between 3 and 6 months ideally. Flowers need to be ordered a good 4 weeks before a wedding with a grower.

The more time you give your florist, the more time you have to make extra decisions along the way with your flowers without any rushing.

If you don't order your flowers early you risk the florists being fully booked. Personally I prefer to know at least a couple of months prior as it can take some time to sort out the style, size and types of flowers that are preferred, and then I always order 3 weeks before the wedding date.

Ideally a year in advanced (9-12months), this helps you lock in the right supplier for you florals. It helps you plan theme and colour items as well,as you can base off your floral style the type of theme you see yourself having.

when a couple may not have that timeframe and make floral arrangements between a 3-6month notice, i would suggest the couple are just more flexible and open to florist availability, especially in peak seasons, and are financially prepared as their deposit and payment instalments  may have a smaller gap between each date.

Hopefully the answer will provide you with some guidance when planning.

We prefer 2 to 4 months notice, so it will provide us with enough time to order your flowers and design them for you.

The answer is relative to what flowers and flower arrangements you require and the wedding date. Our preference is that:

  • If you need a simple Bridal Bouquet using stocked flowers a weeks notice is preferred but not always essential.
  • If you require just the Bouquets and Boutonnieres for the Wedding Party that has very specific requirements than it could be as much as a month to 6 weeks.
  • If you want us to provide bespoke Wedding Flowers Arrangements for the Bridal Party, Ceremony and Reception and want full install, we may require up to 90 Days notice.
  • If you plan to get married around key Florist dates, Valentines Day & Mother's Day or when supply is usually limited such as Christmas - New Year, you need to understand Florist options will be limited and flower availability isn't as certain as the rest of the year.
