Flowers are organic, botanical material. Great care is taken in pressing and preserving flowers, however, unless flowers are colour-enhanced they can change over time. Each flower will fade differently over different lengths of time. As their colours naturally change, this should be embraced and seen as beauty. Art is designed in such a way that whether or not flowers change there still will
Your pressed wedding bouquet flowers can be affected by the environmental conditions in which it is placed. We do what we can to ensure your framed flowers will last as long as possible, but like all fabrics and furnishings, your flowers may gradually fade over time. Avoid hanging in direct sunlight or humid/damp areas. Handle with utmost care as small fragments of florals may fall over the years.

Metal Frame - flowers are encased between glass and framed using the tiffany stained glass method. Frames can be coloured black, copper or silver.
Timber Frame - Once artwork is designed it will be taken to a local framer to frame in high quality timber. Teak, natural and limewash are options at this time.
Shadowbox frames - if you want your flowers to remain 3D looking they can be preserved and framed in a shadowbox. This is available in Oak or limewash
The short answer - no! Each flower has a way of changing through the drying process differently. For example burgundy tulips go purple... white flowers will sometimes go more of an antique white, purple lizianthus will go a blue/green colour. It's actually quite amazing!
Do you colour enhance or colour corrrect?
Every effort is made to preserve the colours in your flowers. However, over time some flowers will fade - some quicker than others. CWJA offers the opportunity to enhance flowers to keep them as they came out of the press. Subtle enhancement allows your preserved piece of art to hold colours for longer.
Colour enhancing involves manually enhancing the colour of your preserved flower art so that colours hold longer. This process is extremely time-consuming and literally adds hours to the time it takes to complete a piece... but ultimately adds life to your art, keeping it looking brighter for longer. If this option is selected, botanicals that can be colour-enhancing will be. Some botanicals can't be enhanced as they look unnatural or due to their nature can't be enhanced. Please note that the botanicals will still age and change over time.
Age naturally - allow your pressed flower art to "age with you". Flowers will be left as they come out of the press and they will change over time - at varying times.
White roses/or light pink roses turn to an ivory colour very quickly in the ageing process.
Roses, ranunculus, peonies, delphiniums, cosmos, eucalyptus, bottlebrush, wattle, ferns, paper daisies, pansies, poppies, hydrangeas, freesias, hellabore, spray roses, babies breath, blushing brides... just to name a few. The type of flowers impact the 'look' of the artwork you have. A more traditional looking frame may contain many roses. A wildflower look may contain flowers that are pressed with stems - ie cosmos, anemones, delphiniums... etc. A frame will be designed based on what flowers are sent.
I am based on the Sunshine Coast. Wedding / Floral bouquets can be dropped off at my home studio.
Yes! It is recommended that flowers are only shipped if they can be express posted and arrive 1-2 days later. Shipping details will be sent to you once a booking is confirmed.
You are able to pick it up from the Sunshine Coast or I am able to ship them to you at an additional expense. The metal frames can be shipped express for between $55 - $95 via Australian Post. However, I do not recommend this for the timber frames. These need to be posted via a courier to ensure they are not damaged and this can cost between $150 and $250.
A payment plan can be arranged if necessary. A $220 (inc GST) Flower Preservation fee as a deposit to secure the booking. The final payment is only due just before I start working on it— 4-6 months after your event. So there is plenty of time to save after your big event!
The Flower Preservation fee is invoiced separately when your booking is made. The Flower Preservation fee is not included on the website prices. If you are planning on having more than one large framed piece of art, and would like more than one bouquet preserved, an additional Flower Preservation Fee must be paid. Frame sizes/options/prices are still being confirmed and may change in 2025.
