5 STAR REVIEWS
Sharon is a star! She took the time on the phone and in person to get to know me and understand my vision, which is so important as weddings are such a personal and momentous event. Sharon worked with the other stylist I had already engaged (I wish I had come across her sooner as I would have engaged her to do all styling - one stop shop), they liaised with the venue and removed the "stress" out of floral and venue styling design.
"Wowed" that is what we all were when Sharon delivered the bouquets - just gorgeous! The arrangements at the ceremony were just stunning!! Everyone just loved the colors, the floral arrangements and the styling.
We had a sneak peak of our reception hall before it was filled with our happy guests, this was another WOW moment. The hand flexed roses had all the oldies thinking they were not real flowers as they were so beautiful!
Sharon worked to my budget, honestly I am in awe of what she was able to create within that budget.
I went to 5-6 florists before coming across Sharon and all I can say is I am grateful I did no settle with any other florist. You can feel how much care and love she has for her craft, you will be in amazing hands with her.

FAQ
This is one of the most common questions I get asked as a Wedding floral designer and one that really needs some explanation. After all, for most of you it’s your first time exploring the world of Wedding flowers and most just don’t know where to begin to understand how much it costs, or in fact what you are getting for your money.
Wedding Flowers set the look and feel for your Wedding with their softness, texture and colour injection, without flowers things can look fairly ordinary. Combine these with other elements like lighting and linens, metallics or glassware and you have something sensational!
I have a great blog post about this topic and you can grab it here

Wedding flowers are not the same as just buying flowers from a standard florist or even just picking up a bunch of flowers from a store. There is so much more to it than this and once you understand why this is the case you will better understand why they generally cost quite a bit more.
You'll find out the general cost of not just your bridal florals but table centrepieces, arbour florals, bridal table arrangements, hanging installations and much more! Helping you to better budget for your Wedding and aim for about 10% of your overall Wedding budget is generally a good estimate!
For most of newly engaged couples, this is an exciting time in their lives!
When the excitement has died down it generally turns into being a little daunting, so many seek out your friends advice, your colleagues, your mum, anyone who’s been there before…and that’s totally normal.
You will get a ton of information, some great and not so great stories about experiences and some good and no so good advice. You will also seek out information on the Internet, researching Pinterest images to find your style, go to Bridal Expo's and start looking into ideas. Which are all great things to do too but can also becoming overwhelming too!
I’ve been there and it’s an exciting and challenging task and depending on how you like to do things and how involved you like to be, these tips below should help most of you get started and off on the right track!
1. Create a new email address for all things Weddings - so you don't miss a thing!
2. Be Flexible with your date - consider a mid week date especially if you are on a budget and with dates generally quite tight since COVID postponements, try and be a little flexible
3. Set up your own Wedding Pinterest Board - so you can collect all the images in one place to gather your ideas and inspiraiton
4. Create a list of Vendors or Suppliers for your MUST HAVE items - do your research, ask friends and family who they recommend and then make contact and start the conversation. Find out what they do for you beyond what they provide on the day. Work out what's important to you!
5. Plan together - Find out how your partner wants to be involved and go from there and think of ways to involve them if they are unsure. Share the load so it doesn't get overwhelming!

I have always loved creating designs that reflect natural aspects whilst combining this with the elegance and softness of soft florals, fabrics and metallic elements like gold, silver, and iron and complimenting the natural surrounds and buildings or your venue space. By ensuring consideration of these aspects, I take a holistic approach to your styling and design to ensure seamless integration to my overall styling. I have available a range of hire décor to suit and if I don’t have what you are looking for, I can source whatever you need! By working with local quality and trusted suppliers in the region, there is never any need to spend time searching on your own.
My ultimate passion is to create styling that is truly complimentary to the space. Such as combining rustic country elements with amped up elegance, this Country Chic style is perfect for a venue or space with natural surrounds where you’d like to create a relaxed and beautiful feel and ambience. My approach would be the same for any space I work in, whether it be modern or contemporary, such as a city venue or space, I always style to suit the surroundings and what’s already in place. Taking on the less is more approach and by adding in complimentary elements and statement pieces, we can work with you to create that WOW look and feel for your Wedding Day!
Being located in the outer area of North of Brisbane, we are only a short 45minute drive to either
the city, Hinterland and most Sunshine Coast regions so we are based in a fabulous spot for most gorgeous venues that we work with in our region. We also have many options to suit our clients!
I offer both a mobile consultative service and a studio space by appointment, whereby we can work through your design concept together and you are able to be involved as much or as little as you’d like. Initial consultations are usually by video appointment, with 1 hour design sessions and final consultations face to face included as part of my inclusive services.
How Does it work?
Whether you are looking for just bridal party bouquets and pieces, ceremony set ups and styling, or
full reception styling design, my focus is always on what you need and your vision for your Wedding Day!
I understand that searching for a floral stylist that you can trust and can meet your budget is important and
can be difficult, so I take the time to talk to you about what you are looking to achieve which helps me better understand your vision for your Wedding Day! I offer varying levels of package options too which also helps me to achieve your vision and all within budget!
It’s all pretty simple really!
We chat and meet, you book and secure my services for your date, we design together, I provide ongoing support and then I create and delivery on your Wedding Day!
We service and deliver from Brisbane, Coastal, Hinterland and Sunshine Coast regions!
(if delivery is outside the Brisbane metro region a small additional delivery fee is charged)
Payment plans and options are also available! (Minimum booking is $600)

Expert Advice
As a wedding professional, Driftwood Blue Floral Events offers expert advice to help couples plan their perfect day. Ask a question or read their expert advice.
Get Expert AdviceWondering what happens if our florist is sick on our wedding day
Trying to be as organised as we can. What happens if our florist can't make it on the day?
Driftwood Blue Floral Events
The first thing here would be to read through your terms and conditions for your booking. There should be a clause in relation to your Florist not being able to supply on the day for whatever reason. If there isn't one, ask them to put it in writing. If they aren't able to deliver their contracted services, they should at the very least, source someone else to provide their services. If they fall sick on the day of your Wedding, flowers should have already been created and ready for delivery so there are ample ways of making sure that happens. Always make sure when you book a Florist they provide you with their Terms and Conditions.
What floral trends do you wish couples would stop asking for?
Hi! We're starting to talk about a theme for our wedding day and we wondered - what are the floral trends that you think (or wish) will be out of style soon?
Driftwood Blue Floral Events
We've seen a big trend in BOHO styles in the last 2-3 years, with a massive focus on tipi's, outdoor set ups, pampas and large dried palms, with carpets and metallics. It's a trend that has definitely grown into it's own since it began. The rustic style is still about for the more budget conscious and in the country regions, with the use of greenery and other minimal decorations. Modern, contemporary styles are going strong, with the full reflexed roses and abundant blooms really popular in the mid to higher end of the market. Soft garden inspired designs are definitely one of the more popular trends coming through, with pops of colour and floaty cottage garden blooms becoming a favourite. The full preserved floral trend is phasing out a little however the fresh/preserved combo is a popular choice. With the increased costs to business we have been facing in recent times, the trend or chosen style we have found is more often than not dependent on your budget limitations but there is definitely a strong enphasis on garden inspired creations with full floral blooms.
Rather than offering a trend recommendation, my response would be to couples planning and looking for a theme is to think about your chosen venue, where is it located, what is the space like and what theme would best suit that venue. Also, what do you both love. Are you nature lovers and love the outdoors, or do you have more of a modern vibe? Are you minimalistic and prefer clean lines, or do you want abundance and greenery. Do you love bright bold colours, or are you love more neutral tones? Trends come and go, so don't be restricted by "on trend" themes. Rather think more about what styles you love, how do you want your reception to feel and ultimately how do you want to remember the day. I hope this helps in some way, to discover your vision for your day!

Why are wedding flowers so expensive at the moment?
Hi there, I know the cost of wedding flowers has gone up considerably. What can we expect to pay now for bouquets and fresh flower ceremony arch? Is the price expected to drop in the future or should we realistically budget for more? (I do want fresh florals!)
Driftwood Blue Floral Events
HI there!
There has been a general increase in overall cost in materials and flowers of up to 20-30% that businesses are having to account due to the impacts of COVID, weather disruptions and general increases with inflation, cost of living etc. Roses especially have gone through the roof, especially those beautiful imported varieties. Flowers and materials are one thing though and prices will vary from business to business. We are also experiencing supply shortages, so having to collect from multiple suppliers is also adding to our overall costs.
The other thing to take note of here, is that Wedding florals are a specialised service and what you will pay is based on levels of service, experience, reputation and of course labour and staffing depending on what is being created for you. There are many costs involved that is far and above the cost of the actual flowers. The actual floristry design work is always done in the last 2 days and generally the day or night before and involves 15-30+hours work straight not to mention the many hours of preparation prior to the design aspects, and the consultation, research and communication hours that take place even before your Wedding Day. As a professional Wedding floral designer, the hours, service and value involved in providing our clients with their perfect Wedding florals far ouweighs the cost of the flowers themselves.
I'm sure I can say for all Wedding florists and designers, that we all deserve to be paid appropriately for the services and value we provide to all our clients. The pricing will vary depending on what each business offers but expect to pay for a professional service if you are looking for one. I have created a guide on this on a BLOG on my website which should help with budgeting purposes. You can find it here: https://driftwoodblue.com.au/wedding-flower-budgets-explained/
Happy planning!
