Get Expert AdviceIs January a hard date for flowers to be supplied for a wedding?
Hello! My partner & I are getting married in Byron Bay and hoping for 11 Jan 2025. We have been told my a florist that flowers around that time are hard to get as wholesalers close normally until 14 January. We are wondering whether we should change our wedding date because we’d love to have some gorgeous flowers for the day and not a limited supply and ones that doesn’t match our colours & make us feel fab. I am not particular about type of flowers more style of bouquet and colours. The florist we have spoken to can’t really tell us either way if anything will be available and we feel is more focused on booking us than helping us be realistic. Your advice is appreciated!

The beginning of January is difficult here in sydney as alot of suppliers take time off. However there are flowers available and it is still possible to get them. If your florist has had plenty of notice, they can pre order with their suppliers.
Do I need to ask my florist to deliver the flowers to the venue and to the bridal party to get ready
Since I’m not getting ready at the venue, do I need to ask my florist to deliver the flowers to the bridal party whilst getting ready as well as the venue?

Most florists will ask where you want your bouquets deliverd to, but if your florist has not asked the question, then yes ask. Alot of brides and grooms will want the flowers with them whilst getting ready if they are having a photgrapher doing pre wedding photos. Keep in mind a seperate delivery fee may also be charged.
Has covid changed the availability of some wedding flowers?
Hi there. What's the availability like on wedding flowers now because of covid? Are some varieties hard to get? And is there a longer than normal ordering time for wedding flowers? Thank you!

Unfortunately yes it has and in addition florists have seen an increase in prices. Check with your florist to ensure that what you want is available and your florist will be able to suggest alternatives if the supply cannot be met.
