Best to purchase your gown closest to your measurements, easier to take a gown in. This can also help with a little nip and tuck in required areas for your gown to fit accordingly. Wish you all the best on your wedding day

Hi Alexa, it's definitely a bad idea to buy a dress that's too small, you are putting a huge amount of pressure on yourself, in most cases it's near impossible to let a gown out. You would be so much better seeing a couture designer, show them what you love about the dress that doesn't fit, they can then create a perfect dress that fits like a glove and flatters your shape as it is. Its better to order your wedding dress to fit you as you are now and then have it altered if you lose weight. You cant be guaranteed to lose weight where you need to. Its risky. The best thing to do is to have a wedding dress made from scratch by a true Couturier so through the fittings adjustments can be made to make your dress fit perfectly. I do final fittings for my clients close to the wedding date so they can be assured of the correct fit. Buying smaller size is a bit of a risk and put you under unnecessary stress. Yes you may lose weight elsewhere, you may not lose where the dress is to smal if it's bigger you can take it in if to small you can't take it out
