I'm really worried that I've left dress shopping too late and with only 3 months until my wedding, I'm stressing I won't have time to get my dream dress done in time. So how long do the alterations normally take, if I have to get my dress taken up or taken in?

We like to have 6 weeks before your wedding to start any alterations
Th sooner you can lock in a dressmaker the better. Time taken usually depends on the alteration needed. If you already have your gown, book in with a dressmaker for a preliminary fitting to see exactly what is needed and then a timeline and cost can be discussed.
We like to start the alterations 6 weeks before the wedding but can catch up earlier to assess the work and cost and book in dates. Cheers Paula
I usually give a 6-8week timeframe prior to your wedding date. I would suggest you book in a pin-up fitting, when I would give you a wriiten obligation-free quote and if you're agreeable to the price, we book in a date for you to pick up your dress, (once you've tried it on). If there are any further tweaks to be done they would be very minimal. I hope this helps in proceeding with getting your dress alterations done.
Best Regards
Hi there, usually we recommend brides to allow 1-2 months for alteration. Some tailors might have a long waiting list. If you haven't got a dress, I would suggest you purchase a sample gown and take it to a tailor as soon as possible.
I would start to make enquiries with your local dressmakers now, to get it booked in. Generally I would ask for 8 weeks if it is a gown purchased from my store and I therefore know the gown. If it a gown purchased elsewhere I encourage the bride to come in sooner so that I can have a look at it and discuss what is required, then we book in based on the requirement of work and time. Keep in mind this could be a busy time of year, and therefore many other brides requiring alterations, so best to touch base in the coming weeks to discuss your dressmakers specific need. Hope this helps. Good Luck .
You have plenty of time at this stage for you alterations to be done, with 3 months until your wedding. Time wise really depend on the gown and if it is intricate with beading etc. We allow up to 3 fittings and this also comes back to when you the bride is avaiable also as you will have other appointments and work to work around. We also suggest that one of these appointments you coincide with having a hair trail and if possilbe makeup as this is the only time you may see the full picture together prior to your day.
I hope that this may help you as you continue to plan ahead for your wedding day.
