You would need to be very careful using a domestic iron
Most gowns are made of synthitic fibre eg polyester which does not like heat and can melt
If you feel it necessary to iron the gown either purchase a steam unit ironer, not just a regular iron
make sure it has a teflon shoe to ensure it does not stick
Personally you would be safer taking it to a recomended dry cleaner who can proffesionall steam it
If you let me know which area you are in we can recomend someone or go to the DIA dry cleaners assocation for your nearest member
Hey there!
What fabric is your gown? It's probably not something I would recommend doing as some fabrics can be easily damaged & also the iron can leave marks on the gown if it's been used to iron colored fabrics in the past.
We do offer an ironing service if you need.
Best of luck to you xx

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
I think the best way is to take your dress to dry cleaners who can steam it or press it for you. Label in your dress should give you some instructions on what to do.
