FAQ

We are finding that many brides are leaving their lead time short and we are happy ato sell our gowns off the rack if they the right size. Otherwise we can certainly order in ayour dream gown

We have a rack with limited edtion gowns that tour Designers no longer wish to produce.  These gowns can tend to be on the rack for up to half of their retails value or much less.  They are still clurrent styles, but a great saving.

When making an appointment we suggest that you wear approptiate under garments.  Also as the gowns are our samples and at times may be sold stgraight off our racks we ask that NO fake tan is applied prior to trying on gowns, as that tan does come off onto our samples.

Mel was absolutely amazing to work with. Her energy on our wedding day was incredible and her professionalism and organisation were impeccable. She was very organised and here flexibility to meet with us online, email and phone calls to answer any of our questions was incredibly helpful. Her photographs of our wedding are out of this world spectacular. We would highly recommend Mel to capture your special day. Elise

Unlike most brides I didn't buy the first dress I found.. I would have tried on 60 dresses at least. I didn't really know what I was looking for but I knew I would once I found it. Most dress shops I didn't love the dresses and didn't really feel comfortable with the sales assistants. And then I found Yvonne. She actually listened to what I did and didn't like and within the first visit I had two dresses I loved. Yvonne clearly knows her fabrics and was so professional but also so real. I felt 100% comfortable and confident with Yvonne. I love my wedding dress so much and I'm so thankful I found Bernice Fashions.

How many wedding dress appointments will I need?

Hi there. Wondering how many wedding dress appointments I should be factoring into my planning, including fittings and pickup? And how long they normally go for? Thanks.

Bernice Fashions

Heading off to boutiques to look at styles of gowns anywhere from 2-4 appointments at various boutiques and try on your dream style and let the boutique select a style also. Keep and open mind as at times what you think you may wear may or maynot be the dream gown.  If you find gowns at various places short list them and go back with a fresh mind on another day.  We allow 1hr for appointments for all our brides to try on styles and go back to your favs.

Am I allowed to take photos of the dresses I try on?

I heard from a friend that this is sometimes not allowed at the dress fitting/appointment, but is this the norm? Feel like it will help me choose if I can see what I look like in photos.

Bernice Fashions

Just remeber photos taken by phone instore are a great reference and your photographer will capture the true beauty of the gown you love.  Only take pictures of the styules that you love not of every gown tried on. Your stylist on the day will be more than happy to assist you with taking photos of yourself in your favourite gown!

How to travel with your wedding gown for a destination wedding

Hello, I'm getting married in Thailand in late 2023... starting to think about my wedding dress and wondered what's the best way to travel overseas with it, if you had any tips about packing it in my luggage, and then storage/care for it once I arrive? Thank you!

Bernice Fashions

Loving the destination wedding.

We offer our brides to fold their wedding gowns in their carry on cases.  This takes the stress away from the bride after we have altered their gown.  This also leaves enough room for all the things your require on they day of your wedding. Shoes, undergarments all should be on the carry on baggage for your wedding day.
