We do Family style only to replicate a beautiful family shared feast
No, It is much more expensive than cocktail style service because it requests more staff, working hours and equipment. You also must to take into consideration the table set up costs, plates, etc... Furthermore, if you want to provide an excellent service, the venue must have at least a basic kitchen next to the reception room to guarantee a smooth service in case of rain.
Alternete drop is cheaper, it is a more precise way of serving food, Family Style requires more plates, utensils as you need serving platters, utensils eg. tongs, spoons.
More Dishes to serve to the table, take away from table and more to wash. The Amount of food is usualy the Same however if you have a big eater on your table sometimes other guests at that table can miss out on food, Diamond Hill Catering usually has enough Back up to compensate.
Do you mean buffet style? Alternate drop is more expensive as more staff are needed to plate and serve.
It is very similar price overall including staff as well. Though the amount of food tends to be more with a family style share style feast, so better value in most cases.
