OVERVIEW
Something borrowed, something blue, something delicious that’s made to suit you.
When you envision your perfect wedding cake, you need your wedding cake designer to have the creative expertise to take that image and turn it into a tangible (and delicious reality). Entirely self-taught and driven by a desire to bake things that not only look good but taste amazing, Hadassah (aka Das) believes that cakes are not only for indulging but also for creating enduring memories.
Hadassah specialises in bespoke occasion and wedding cakes, taking the time to truly understand what a couple is looking for in their nuptial showstopper. With a background in art, she has replaced the traditional canvas with an edible buttercream base upon which she loves to experiment with florals, meringue, colour and more.
Offering single-tier ‘micro-wedding’ cakes, two-tier, three-tier and beyond, Hadassah will tailor to your budget and your guest list. Whether your ideal is the classic, all-white traditional look, or you’re after something with a more contemporary aesthetic, Hadassah will dream up the cake that perfectly complements your event.

FAQ
I recommend requesting a tasting box about 6 months before your wedding.
In terms of the design, it's best to come prepared with a general idea of the look and feel of your wedding so that we can design a cake that complements your wedding style. If you're not sure of the design you want, we can be guided by your colour scheme, venue and flower arrangements.
I have a comprehensive menu of delicious flavour offerings, including coconut and passionfruit, lemon and caramel, chocolate, pistachio with fresh strawberries, vanilla, and more. My full menu can be found here: https://dasmakescakes.com/cake-menu/.
This will be determined by how many tiers your cake will be. You can have one single flavour running through the whole cake, or select up to 3 complementary flavours. This is something I can guide you on in terms of flavours that work well together.
Pricing is based on a number of factors. The guestlist, design, decorations to name a few. I aim to price fairly and work with my couples to ensure they have the design that works within their budget.
Aside from that ceremonial first cut, your venue should be well versed in cake cutting. My preferred method is to cut the cake in straight lines that go across the entire diameter of the cake, portioning each row of cake into neat slices that will make perfect coffee serves, which is how I estimate how much cake you will need for your special day.
Yes, typically for tiered cakes I do use either a central wooden dowels or paper straws to support the lower tiers.
The tradition of saving the top tier for your first wedding anniversary or other special milestone is something some couples love to uphold.
If you choose to do this, ensure your venue/caterer and baker know of your plans, I would then supply a box to preserve the top tier in following the wedding day. To freeze, make sure to put it in a container with a tight seal to ensure the freshness of the cake. To thaw, remove it from the freezer and pop it in the fridge for about 24 hours. Then remove it and allow it to come to room temperature (anywhere between 2-5 hours depending on the size of the cake), and then enjoy!
