We'd love to chat with you about your cake so click on enquiry and let's set up a phone call or zoom.
Gluten Free The majority of my cake flavours can be made gluten free, and most of my fillings are already gluten free. I also offer gluten free cupcakes & brownies.
Other dietary requirements I offer cupcakes and/or cake portions to accommodate guests with specialty dietary requirements, however this is not our speciality.
Nut Allergies For clients with severe nut allergies, I cannot 100% guarantee a nut-free environment and prefer you make other arrangements for your own safety.
I work with 2 styles of premium buttercream as well as chocolate ganache and also offer Deluxe soft fillings.
Classic whipped buttercream
- It's a sweeter, classic style buttercream, often used for birthday cakes
- Made with butter, icing sugar and cream.
Swiss Meringue Buttercream
- It's a silky smooth, less sweet style buttercream mostly used for wedding cakes.
- Made with butter, white sugar and meringue.
Couverture chocolate ganache
- Rich and decadent. Sweetness level will depend on the type of chocolate.
- Made with fresh cream and either dark, white, milk and caramelised white chocolate.
I recommend to store my cakes in the fridge. Depending on the size of the cake, you may need to remove 1 or more shelves from your fridge. Make sure there are no open food items or anything with a strong smell that might permeate the cake.
Cakes should be served at room temperature for the best eating experience. Cakes can take 4-8 hours to properly come to room temperature depending on their size. To speed this process up, cut the cake and let the portions sit on a plate for 30 minutes to soften.
I recommend any left over cake be wrapped in cling film, placed in an air tight container and stored in the fridge. Bring cake to room temperature before eating.
Cakes can be frozen for 2-3 months. Excludes cakes filled with fresh fruit.

Get Expert AdviceCan we still have a large multi-tiered wedding cake even though we're having an intimate wedding?
We're having a small wedding of 30 people, but I love the look of a four-tiered cake. What are our options?
Unique cake flavour ideas
Hi there, would love to know what some of the newer and more interesting cake flavour combinations are to surprise our guests.
CAKED by Carissa
Firstly, theres nothing wrong with classic flavours when they're done right, but to answer your question, I'd suggest looking at current dessert trends for timely inspiration. Some suggestions might include miso infused caramel or ganache, black sesame, yuzu curd etc. Adding textures and fresh or caramelised fruits is a simple way to elevate otherwise classic flavours without potentially polarising your guests with unusual flavour combinations. For instance, crushed hazelnut praline and hot fudge sauce can elevate a simple chocolate cake. Another example is when I use baked cheesecake layers inside my cakes. People are always surprised and delighted by this simple fusion of cake and dessert.
Does it cost more for cakes to have a New Year's Eve wedding?
Would we be looking at surcharges or different pricing for our wedding cake if our wedding was on nye?
CAKED by Carissa
The cake itself would not cost more, however as its technically a 'holiday' of sorts, your cake maker would ultimately need to decide wether it was worth potentially sacrificing their own celebrations in order to accommodate your wedding. Because of that, you are likely to be quoted with a surcharge (much like a restaruant on public holidays) or higher delivery fees because of this.

Yes you can. Faux tiers are a simple solution to this, however not all styles of cake will work with faux tiers, and not all cake makers work with them either. I generally advise my clients to also consider the size of the venue and guest numbers when considering the size of their cake. For instance, small wedding cakes are very popular, but if you have a wedding with 200 people, in a huge venue, the cake is very likely to be swallowed up by the room. I would say the same applies to a large wedding cake in a small setting. You dont want the cake to look out of place, or obviously fake. However, ultimately, the size of your wedding cake is up to you, so if you want a huge cake, go for it!
