OVERVIEW
Looking for a savoury alternative to sweet wedding cakes? Cornelius Cheesemongers in Brunswick, Melbourne, have the perfect solution. Their Cheese Celebration Towers mimic a traditional wedding cake’s style by stacking wheels of delicious local and imported artisan cheeses atop one another. Couples still get the experience of cutting their showstopping “cake”, and afterwards, it can be dismantled and served on a grazing table.
Speaking of grazing tables, Cornelius Cheesemongers is renowned for those, as well! Catering for up to 80 attendees, their gourmet grazing tables and platters feature artisan cheese, condiments, bread and crackers, and fruits and nuts. Perfect for pre- and post-ceremony snacks or to keep your guests satisfied throughout the reception, grazing tables are an aesthetically pleasing and delicious feature at any wedding.

FAQ
Great question! And one we hear all the time. Our base price is $400 with an average around $900-$950. We like to make our cakes in consultation with the couple, each one is bespoke and created for the clients. We have made cakes with price tags up to $11,000 weighing 80-90kg.
We use artisan and hand made cheese for all of our towers.
As a rule we like to say between 40 and 100 grams per person. If cheese is the meal then more, if it's part of a alrger offering then less. We like to put the aesthetic before quantity and may go over or under this number to make the perfect cake.

What's an alternative to wedding cake?
I've never been a fan of cake, but will people be disappointed if I don't do a cake cutting part of the reception? What are the alternatives or am I best to stick with tradition?

Hello!
There are several wheels of cheese jumping up and down in the Cheese Cave at the moment saying "pick me! pick me!".
Cheese wheel wedding towers are a very popular alternative to the traditional wedding cake.

Could we suggest a cheese wheel wedding tower? The savoury flavours work so well as a post dessert snack for your guests or even as dessert and the party kicks into high gear. It cuts like a traditional cake and then the kitchen can break it down for your guests to enjoy from platters and boards.
