Hey, I’m Ellie, the sole creator and maker at Sweet Custom Cakes. I am a trained pastry chef and cake decorator by trade, and I love everything about making and designing cakes. Starting Sweet Custom Cakes has been a massive achievement in my life, as creating cakes has allowed me to express myself and live my dream, bringing me much joy and happiness as others enjoy my creations. I love chatting about everything sweet and look forward to hearing from you about your special cake.

The cake flavours we offer are:

  • Belgian chocolate mud
  • Belgian white chocolate mud
  • Caramel mud
  • Vanilla bean butter cake
  • White chocolate and raspberry mud 

We most certainly do! Please ask us upon your enquiry and we will do our best to cater for you. Please note our kitchen does produce items containing nuts, eggs and gluten, and there is always a risk of cross-contamination. It is then up to the customer, to know the risk of cross-contamination to continue to consume our products.

This will be an important question we ask when enquiring about wedding cakes.

A ‘tea and coffee portion’ is usually 1” x 1” x the standard height of our cake (5”- 6” tall) This option is a great portion size if you are having another dessert (s) catered for at your wedding or event.

A ‘dessert portion’ is twice the size and usually 1” x 2” x the standard height of our cakes.

Ellie made our beautiful wedding cake in Sept 2022. We had a bright colourful wedding & Ellie definitely understood the brief. Ellie was a delight to work with from first contact right until the moment she delivered our cake to the venue. Ellie was the only cake designer in the area that could make the tricky order we requested. She was able to make a 2 tier cake with the top tier being both Vegan and Gluten free Chocolate. We had the bottom tier regular red velvet. We served the cake as our only desert with some accompaniments &everyone ate cake. People left the dance floor to have seconds. The vegan/gluten free tier was delicious and our guests commented on how yummy the cake was. Ellie was professional, easy to communicate with and the end product was as insta worthy as it was delicious! THANK YOU ELLIE!

Ellie created exactly what I wanted for our wedding day! My husband and I finally got married in 2022 after rescheduling our wedding 3 times due to restrictions and lockdowns. Ellie was super understanding and accommodating - nothing was ever an issue! Ellie created the most stunning, delicious cake I had ever come across and all the wedding guest thought the same! She made the whole process streamline from the ordering/decision making. She handled the delivery so I didn't need to worry about anything. Hi there, would love to know what some of the newer and more interesting cake flavour combinations are to surprise our guests.

Sweet Custom Cakes

Hey, One of our very popular and very unique flavours is the Persian love cake. This cake is made with an almond base, flavoured with cardamon and lemon and layered with fig syrup, rose water, greek yogurt and pistachio nuts. It's very delicious.

Hi, Great question. Cake designs and styles are forever changing, and it can be hard to keep up with trends. Working your own style and theme of your wedding into your cake design can create something very special, and it doesn't mean you can't bring the 'in trend ' amongst that. A clean, shard style in buttercream or fondant, if preferred, is quite popular at the moment. It is also becoming very popular to see more cakes with a pallet knife flower effect, incorporating textures and depth into the cake.
