gosh NO !!! I always tell my brides..."it's your wedding...you can do what you like" ! some brides like to follow tradition..... others like to do something out of the box ....or a suprise for their guests. ..... the main thing is to do something you like that fits in with your theme and stlye. Many receptions have a dessert buffet included in the menue so a huge cake isn't neccessary.
