Hi There, I'm Belinda! I've been creating edible works of art for over 25 years! I say art, because your wedding cake is often the centerpiece of your reception admired by all! I landed in wedding cakes after creating my very own wedding cake. I wanted to create my own cake, because I wanted something less traditional. After many months of experimenting, I was hooked! I love working with clients to design a cake that reflects their personality.

Can I pick up my cake from your studio?

Unfortunately we don't allow cakes to be picked up. We don't charge any additional fees to deliver your cake locally around Adelaide. (within 15kms of Flinders Pk). Additional suburbs will incur a small delivery fee, depending on the order size & distance. We would rather deliver the cake to you, that way, we know that the cake arrives in one piece & it's one thing you don't need to worry about!

Can I try your cakes?

Absolutely! Through out the year, we will have tasting boxes available to purchase. These can be purchased directly through our shop or contact us to be put on a waiting list. If you purchase a tasting box & book in your cake with us, you will receive the cost of the tasting box as a discount towards your final contact cost. (ON ORDERS OVER $500),

How early should I book my cake in?

As soon as you know you want us to create your cake! Because we care more about quality, over quantity, we don't take on as many cakes as other studios, which results in us often being booked out! We would suggest as soon as you have your date & venue worked out, contact us to start the process (Unless you know exactly what you want, there's often a design, then quoting process that takes time)

What type of flowers should I have, fresh, silk or sugar?

Fresh will generally be the less expensive option. With fresh flowers though, you are limited to what's available at the time & colour. Generally silk can be purchased in any colour & at any time. Though there are some good quality silk flowers on the market, getting the exact colour that you require may take a little time. Sugar flowers, whilst the most expensive option, will give you exactly the type of flower & can be colour matched (as close as possible) to your colour scheme. please be aware though, our sugar flowers are hand crafted, petal by petal which become very time consuming, thus are expensive, BUT as they are made from sugar (or wafer paper) they will last for many years in the right environment.

Do I contact my venue & arrange delivery of the cake?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! That's what we're here to do! Once you book in & pay your deposit, we handle the rest. Your job is to sit back & relax (At least with the cake, anyway!) We will contact your event coordinator & liase with them delivery & set up of your cake.

Belinda was so good! We had a few tastings before we met with Belinda and hers stood out to us. We had a lemon cake with raspberry coulis and the other was Belgium chocolate mud cake. We wanted a cake that tasted great so we had a fake cake on display and the top tier was a fruitcake which we will have for the first wedding anniversary. We had a consult prior to the day and that was about 45 minutes and really took the time to understand our inspiration that we had sent through and what we liked about each of them.

Unique cake flavour ideas

Hi there, would love to know what some of the newer and more interesting cake flavour combinations are to surprise our guests.

Hey there,

I'm actually just working on a few new flavours for my menu at the moment!

Some flavours I will be popping on my menu are;-

Pistachio & cardamon cake, filled with a raspberry & rose Swiss meringue buttercream

Honey & lavender cake filled with a Honey Swiss meringue buttercream

Vanilla cake filled with passionfruit & elderflower curd & white chocolate ganache

Lastly... Lemoncello & thyme cake with lemoncello Swiss meringue buttercream

Does it cost more for cakes to have a New Year's Eve wedding?

Would we be looking at surcharges or different pricing for our wedding cake if our wedding was on nye?

It really depends on the indavidual business themselves. I personally don't charge any extra, but I do know of other businesses that do. I would suggest reaching out to the businesses that you like & asking them directly.

Do cake makers provide toppers or do we source them ourselves?

If not, where is the best place to buy? (Can we hire any?)

Personally, I like to provide toppers. It's one less thing you need to organise! Toppers I supply are generally created from sugar, or acrylic. Talk to your cake designer to see what they supply.
