Blue Bird Bakery is a family owned and run business, first established in 1954. Brenton and Angela Wuttke took over the business in 2016 and today Angela manages the bakery with a team of dedicated and talented staff. We specialise in custom cake designs. We offer gluten free, egg free, dairy free and vegan alternatives. We will work with you to design the cake that you want.

The cake was phenomenal! It was a custom cake, star wars themed, and we provided a few things and figurines as well as a topper to put on the cake. They made a massive death star on the top, and we were just blown away by the cake and what they made of it! When we go in there they still remember us as well!

How far in advance before the big day do you order your cake?

Hi,

It will vary depending on where you're getting your cake from and the style of cake you choose. The bigger places tend to book out for wedding season. Smaller places would need less notice. One month would be ideal for say a semi - naked cake.

What's an idea for a wedding cake flavour that's not too sweet or sugary?

Have you considered serving up a sponge cake with fresh cream and just having a smaller cake for your display? Otherwise, agree with lemon flavour or perhaps lemon/raspberry.
