NOIM is held securely until the wedding is complete and then incorporated in the registration process on line with BDM.
Cheers David
We keep it safely in our files. I personally have a plastic sleeve for each wedding and all the forms stay together in that sleeve in my locked desk cabinet at home. We are required to ensure your privacy is not violated, so we can't leave it lying around or in public.
the Celebrant files it with all the relevant paperwork until they need to lodge it to BDM

Hiya, A celebrant is required keep your NOIM in a safe place once you have lodged it with them. We then keep it until the wedding ceremony and send it to Births, Deaths and Marriages with the other documentation you sign on your wedding day. It is then filed in a locked filing cabinet. I hope this helps!!

The NOIM is a document containing private details so it is of the utmost importance to keep it safe. Mine are kept for each couple in a personal document folder with all other documentation and info for that wedding. After the ceremony it is forwarded immediately to the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages.

Before the ceremony: I have a seperate document wallet for each of my couples. Once the NOIM is created by me on the Births, Deaths and Marriages website in your presence, then printed and signed by the couple and myself, aka "received" by me, I place it into the document wallet created for that couple, then file it in my locked filing cabinet until I require the file for use. It is returned to the locked filing cabinet when I finish with it, on each occasion. This provides security for the document and for my couples, as it can never be lost or mixed into another couple's file and as a Celebrant who cares about the privacy of all my couples, your privacy is guaranteed by this method.
On the day of the rehearsal & of the ceremony: I will bring that couple's document wallet with me, ensuring that if there are any changes to the couple's details, that I can legally update the NOIM before the ceremony, then fully complete it for lodgement with Births, Deaths and Marriages on the day of the ceremony.
The NOIM stays in the hands of celebrant until the wedding. The celebrant will then submit to BDM after the wedding. I keep all paperwork in a locked filing cabinet for safe keeping.
Hi there. Thanks for the question. I keep the NOIM filed away in a folder and bring it out on the day of the wedding as it is only to be completed after the ceremony has taken place. When completed, I send it off to the Dept of BDM , along with the other forms.
Once the NOIM is completed, within the legal time frame, and after it has been lodged with BDM, the celebrant should have a filing system, where all important documents should be kept and locked away.

We hold the NOIM until after the Ceremony.
It is then sent to Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM) in the State you have been married, along with the other documents you sign at the Ceremony.
In Victoria, we log in to BDM's Celebrants portal and upload your documents.
We keep the NOIM locked in a lockable filing cabinet (I also keep a copy in the computer, in a locked file.
The only difference to this, is when the NOIM is required by a couple to take it to a Prescribed Authority to apply for a shortening of time. I accompany them to that and, once Approved by the Prescribed Authority, I take it back and store until the Ceremony, as described above.
