It is absolutely up to you. If you have a budget that allows for umbrellas and fans, then that may be a lovely and thoughtful touch for your guests on a hot, sunny day. You may even decide to provide your guests with a cold bottle of water upon entry? However, if your budget doesn't account for this, then you're guests will totally understand. Ultimately it is your day and everyone is there to watch up get married - rain, hail or shine! xx

Dear Bride,

Many of the weddings we present here in the Northern Territory happen on 'hot days'. I've noticed many brides now put out some fans and paper umbrellas. These can be purchased quite cheaply online.  Cold water is also a thoughtful  touch and can ensure your guests are more comfortable in hot weather.  Many couples sell surplus stock of fans umbrellas etc after their wedding  online which is also worth researching.

Best wishes for a beautiful wedding x

yours in celebration

Hi, it would be nice and shows your guest that you care about their well being. The other things you can supply is Insect repelent and bottles of water. If you have tree around it would be nice to set up the chairs under the trees for the shade. It is especially important to look after the elderly and any pregnant guests.

Have a lovely wedding day.

Hello, you could hire a couple of marquees nicely decorated and give out fans as a keepsake with your names on them and the date of the marriage.

The Hi

  1. Bottles of water or water fountain would be my recommendations  in an esky especially for groom and groomsmen as nerves along with any celebratory drinks the day prior would lead to dehydration, and guests would have the opportunity to hydrate before the ceremony starting. It also would be really good for the bridal party after the ceremony as I'm sure they would all appreciate the liquid.
  2. Perhaps some small wooden fans at the entrance to the wedding venue this way you can leave it up to each guest to decide what suits them. This also would be an opportunity for any children to be involved as they could be responsible for offering them to your guests as they arrive or even a close friend, family member not included in the wedding party to become involved.
  3. Also you could go to the expense of having large umbrellas installed around the venue but as for smaller or indigvidual umbrellas for guests I would not bother as this could interfere with photos of guests and would add to your budget.
  4. warmest regards and best wishes to you both

Hi,

there should always be some shade available, even a marquee would be great depending on the number of guests. Some bottles of water are always help on a hot day. You can purchase small paper fans which could also be a keep sake for your guests.

Yes it is a very good idea to supply umbrellas for your guest and I suggest cold bottles of water as well as in my experince with outdorr weddings on hot days guest do become quite dehydrated and I have noticed on many occasion how uncomfortable they are if they are just sitting or standing in the hot sun with out either some shade as in an umbrella and no water.

I think the comfort of your guests on a hot day is very important, especially if there isn't a lot of shade. An umbrella or fans can make your guests feel more relaxed and ready to enjoy this special day with you. You might like to consider having bottled water available too.

Best wishes

If there isn't any shade available, then providing fans or umbrellas is a nice touch - but you can also suggest guests wear hats and bring sun protection. It doesn't have to be at your cost. It is definitely worth thinking about though when planning where your wedding ceremony will take place.

Hi, I think that little fans are a great idea and make a lovely keepsake! They're quiet and small so they won't get in the way in your photos. Umbrellas, on the other hand, can block people's view - and I'm not sure whether you're wondering about large market-style ones or personal ones.

From my experience, the stylists often set up the market umbrellas hours before the ceremony and peg them into the ground so they can't be moved. By the time the ceremony starts the sun has moved and the shade isn't where it's much use, and the couple and their attendants (and celebrant) end up with shaded feet and squinty faces!

Guests always want to stay in the shade so try to choose a spot where everyone will be comfortable... and have plenty of cups of cool water!
