Sarah Bedggood is not just a celebrant. Her background is in science and health care. As a botanical consultant for most of her life, she knows how to research thoroughly and communicate with clarity.

Sarah has also been teaching yoga for nearly 20 years, helping people to find resilience and peace in their daily life. She also works as a gardener and disability support worker and is inspired by travel, reading and the people she connects with.

Your ceremony should reflect You! A civil ceremony doesn't mean that your beliefs or spiritual ideas must be excluded. Sarah has an extensive and eclectic library of ceremonial poetry, readings and music suggestions to share with you.

We had no idea where to start when looking for a marriage celebrant but we came across Sarah's details, and lucky we did! It was clear from the first time she dropped around to visit that she had a warm and down to earth personality, and great intuition about the kind of ceremony we were hoping to have. She helped us to clarify what we wanted for the day and had some quality insights about how it should all go. We even used one of the readings she suggested. Sarah guided us through all the legal ins and outs of the process, which we had no idea about. If you're looking for someone to provide a grounding presense during the ceremony and to provide guidance and support in the lead up then Sarah would be an excellent choice!

We could not be any more grateful to have had Sarah with us on our big day. Sarah is so kind-hearted and such a beautiful person inside and throughout. Do celebrants charge more for new year's eve weddings?

Wondering if there are surcharges for special dates like this.

I don't but it's up to the individual!

Is there a traditional left and right side for the bride's family and groom's family?

Does the bride's side traditionally sit on the left or the right at the ceremony?

I agree with most responses here - have the guests on the opposite sides so they can see the face they love :)

In the case of a bride and bride or groom and groom, it would obviously be up to them - perhaps choose the side they sleep in their bed.

Please note - sometimes one party has only a few guests (for a range of reasons). We recently had a wedding where there were 10 people on one side and nearly 100 on the other. In such a case, please ask everyone to mix together!
