About
Hello! I am Bec, a kindness enthusiast, animal lover, keen gardener, childrens' yoga teacher and Celebrant. I have a little rainbow bird named Gilly, she's a Green Cheek Conure and I've 4 chooks whom I just adore. I am community minded and love volunteering my time for causes I believe in. I love love, and that is the main reason I chose to become a celebrant. I am passionate about ceremony and rites of passage and love co-creating services with meaning and heart.

FAQ
You can choose anyone! I have had a bride choose their brother after their father had passed, another had their step father, another had an uncle, another had her mother! It doesn't really matter who it is, as long as it is special and meaningful to you. Completely your choice.
You do not have to write your own personal vows, there are however some legal vows that must be said to officiate the marriage.
"I call upon the persons here present, to witness that I, (insert name here) take you, (insert spouse's name) to be my lawful wedded husband/wife" -These are the legal vows that must be said.
You can then choose to add in some personal vows as well. You can write them yourselves or have your celebrant help/write vows for you. You may also like to share your personal vows privately, and that's okay too. Some couples may not want to publicly share. Your choice!
Once your celebrant sends off your documents to Births Deaths and Marriages after your wedding, you can apply for the Official Marriage Certificate online through your states BDM portal. It is about $60 for the certificate.
For my couples, this is included in my pricing and I will apply for you, it will be posted out to you- one less thing for you to worry about!
No, you do not have to have a rehearsal. I encourage couples who have active participation in their ceremonies to have a rehearsal; just so everyone involved knows the run through, where to stand, and when it is their turn to get up to speak/participate. It is also a great opportunity to touch base with everyone before the big day. It is absolutely okay to not to have a rehearsal and just get together on the day too! I include rehearsals in my Full Creative Ceremony package cost.

Hi there. What's another term we can use for life partner during our ceremony?
Bec Johnson Celebrant
So many options when naming your partner in your ceremony. I love that people are adpating the language they use- all inclusivity is welcome! Some terms I use/my couples use are: loved one, spouse, soulmate, significant other, better half, best friend, beloved, lover, side kick, partner in crime, or a particular pet name you have, or their actual name!
Is it okay for your godfather to walk you down the aisle?
Bec Johnson Celebrant
It is absolutely okay for your Godfather to walk you down the aisle. You can choose anyone! My daughter is being married in 12 months time . Am I able to become competent in that time to perform her wedding?
Bec Johnson Celebrant
Potentially! You do need to complete a Cerificate IV in Marriage Celebrancy, which depending who you study with, and how much time you have can be done relatively quickly. You do also need to factor in the time it takes to register; the Attorney General's office takes about 3 months to register you. However, without the Certificate IV you could absolutely still perform the ceremony and have a registered celebrant do the 'legal bits' before/after/during as well.
