FAQ
The signing of the paperwork takes about 5 minutes, so it is nice for the ceremony to be at least slightly longer.
Weather has to be taken into account with heat, rain, cold and wind as possible considerations. An alternative venue/wet weather option is highly recommended if you are choosing an outdoor ceremony.
You can have as many wedding party attendants as you wish, or none at all! Two witnesses over 18 years of age are legally required to sign the paperwork but these people do not have to be part of your wedding party; they can be anyone you choose! If you are including young children as flower girls or pageboys, we can discuss their role and position during the ceremony so that everything runs as smoothly as possible.
Absolutely! Most couples choose 4 songs, one to play at the processional (entry), another during the signing of the paperwork (plus a back up song in case the signing takes a little longer than one song) and a final song at the conclusion of the ceremony. It’s usually easiest to have a spotify playlist ready and have a friend or family member ready to play. Of course, there is live music as an option too!
A small table and 2 chairs for the signing is recommended (if you choose me as your celebrant, I supply these with no extra charge!) However, once I married a couple and their signing table never showed up, so we got creative and used the bride's brother's back! As you can imagine, this caused some laughter and a happy, memorable moment.
This is dependent on location and the number of guests. For custom ceremonies, I can supply a wireless PA system and wireless microphone, suitable for up to 150 guests.
Your deposit is due when you decide to choose me as your celebrant. This is after a no-obligation meeting, so there is no pressure to drop any money straight away if you decide not to go with me as your celebrant! The balance is due 14 days prior to the wedding.
During the ceremony you are required to sign 3 marriage certificates. I will bring the paperwork and a signing pen. They are:
For an official certificate from the Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages an application needs to be submitted. I can apply on your behalf when I lodge your marriage online. The fee for the standard certificate is $60 and the certificate is posted within 2 weeks.
